Fr 2/22/19- THE ONE PERCENT SOLUTION
Fr 2/22/19
Up 710am; mostly sunny with temps to the mid 40's.
Watched Netflix disc, 'THE FRONT RUNNER'. Gary Hart was the clear front runner for the Democratic party's nominee for the presidential election of 1987, until a sexual affair was uncovered and his candidacy unraveled in just a few days; with Hugh Jackman and Vera Farmiga. How much does the media and the public need to know about a candidate's personal life or is all of it relevant?
Spent some time checking that my requests for Netflix were not on Amazon Prime. I was surprised to find that many of the were.
'CONTRACTED' (Xfinity) A low budget vampire flick that really packs a wallop. A young woman has sex with a stranger at a party and by the end of the film she realizes that this marked the beginning of her new life as a vampire. The film is grossly distasteful, yet strangely satisfying. Well worth a look.
Wrote an email to Janny suggesting the 'ONE PERCENT CUT FOR JOE'. It was a finely crafted email and I hope that they take 'THE ONE PERCENT SOLUTION'.
215pm- to FitClub South
******I drove downtown to drop the disc in the Monroe PO and deposited the dvd and the book on the Springfield Riot of 1908 in the library box. When I got far south on sixth I noticed that my brake pedal was almost to the floor when I tried to stop. Something is radically wrong. I made an appointment with the station at Chatham and Monroe. I'll drop the car off at 730am tomorrow morning.
*******I ran on the track for the first time in months. 45" (THE BEST OF MICK JAGGER). 45" Recumbent Bike (read February Selection).
*******While on the recumbent I got an answer from Janny that they agree to 'The One Percent Solution'. I also learned that the estate is right now valued at $1, 120,000!!!! This is DOUBLE what I thought he had.
45" Precor (the last segment of the Netflix Spanish series about sexual abuse by priests in Spain). 30" Walk (TV). 30" Cross (TV).
Just whirlpool/ therapy pool; steam room isn't steamy!
Home to watch 'CORNBREAD COSA NOSTRA' (Amazon Prime). This was far below a 'B- Movie', and almost like a student film, so I switched to 'GENERATION WEALTH'. This was a film that I requested on Netflix, but was available on Amazon Prime. More reasons to check what I order from Netflix disc. The premise of this documentary is that a culture and a society is on the decline when spending goes through the roof. Egyptian culture and influence was all but dead when the pyramids were built and today rampant consumerism marks the end of The American Epoch.

Hey,
Yesterday's mishap with the missent text perfectly exemplifies the definition of 'chagrin'- and that I am!
I have been giving some thought to compensation for Joe's duties as executor. I spent time Googling the issue and if some of those guidelines were applied, Joe could have shredded his real estate license and made a hugely successful living managing the estate. However, these rules were meant to apply to an outside entity who was contracted to handle the affairs, and this is not really the case with Joe since he stands to benefit from the settlement because you (as his wife) will receive half of the estate.
On Tuesday I called Emily and she contacted the lawyer that handles Dax's legal questions, and she said that if nothing is specified in the will we are free to come up with any solution we deem equitable. Regardless of what we decide on this issue, the terms of the will are followed anyway.
What it comes down to is that I will be paying Joe's compensation, and I think that this is fair. You won't be paying for anything since by paying Joe you would essentially be paying yourself.
Here's what I propose. I will pay ONE PERCENT of the total value of the estate in cash directly to Joe. This would include all banking accounts, life insurance, and investment accounts and I will pay one percent of that figure.
1% is what Dax charges to manage my money, and I guess this would be reasonable to pay Joe. I realize that Joe spent a lot of time and work on these matters over the years, but he was working in his own best interest because he also stands to gain from the final outcome.
Although I really don't know what the estate is worth, I hope that The One Percent Solution is something that you both can live with and that you feel is fair.
Drop me a note as to your thoughts....the suspense is already killing me.....seeya..kw
