Sa 2/9/19

Up 7am; eleven degrees at 7am, sunny and temps won't crack 30 later.

Got an email from Janny about the party at Elsie's House yesterday and that they were on their way home.

On the ground 1130am in Peoria, and they were heading for a restaurant.

Watched 'FALL OF THE INNOCENT' (THE BUTCHER OF PRAGUE) (Amazon Prime)  When Nazi leader Reinhard Heydrich was assassinated in 1942,  the German command destroyed an entire Czechoslovakian village and murdered all of the townspeople in retribution. One man was in prison for the accidental murder of his son, and he was the only male to survive. Not a bad film, and I was unaware of the 'Lidice Massacre'.

Then the penultimate 'BLACK EARTH RISING'- An extremely complex story and amazingly shot; some of John Goodman's best work.

1pm- to the 'Y' and then after the workout to Walmart to see if they have 'Double X' thermal long sleeve tees.

45" Walk. (Reality TV all workout). 45" Bike. 45" Cross. 45" Recumbent Bike. 30" Cross.

To Walmart and I got two black thermal tees 'XXX' and they'll do just fine. And, I got two blue long sleeve tees that were marked down to three bucks a piece.

Home to read 'THE DECEIVERS' for a half hour in the living room and listen to a half hour tape that Chris had made of a radio program; excellent music, and like nothing else!

Then into the tub for more John MacD and some Tom Verlaine on the stereo.

Watched a bio pic of Sam Cooke on Netflix called, 'THE TWO KILLINGS OF SAM COOKE'. The thesis is that if Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, or any 'White' Superstar had been killed like Cooke, there would have been an FBI investigation.  Cooke got nada.

Then the first episode of the Netflix series, 'ONE DAY AT A TIME'. Norman Lear's series from the 70's changed to deal with  contemporary Cubans instead of Blacks. Not bad, but the laugh track is annoying.
