Up 6am; mostly sunny and temps to mid 50's!

Watched 'LOVELESS'('NELYUBOV') Xfinity   A middle class Russian couple are going through an extremely bitter divorce when their twelve year old son goes missing. Both mother and father do not want custody, and the boy overhears this decision (one of the most memorable scenes of the film), and this may or may not have caused the boy to leave because what really happened to the boy is never resolved. Although the the primary narrative of the film is the convoluted and elaborate search for the boy, it's really about the disintegration of this family, and maybe the entire country of Russia as well.

Spent some time making comments on the YouTube reviews of the film, and then watched:

'FUGITIVE PIECES' (Amazon Prime) His parents murdered by the Nazis, a Polish Jew is taken in by a Greek professor and they escape to an island in the Mediterranean. They relocate to Canada and the boy learns to deal with his sadness and to finally accept love. The film was adapted from a novel by Canadian poet, Anne Michaels. This awarded winning film is from 2007, and I'm surprised that I'd never heard of it.

1pm- PC 'Off' and read more of 'THE TROUBLED MAN' and napped in the chair.

The Brandenburgs landed just after 1pm, and I was heading out the door for a long, long walk through Springfield. Down Westview and through Washington Park/ South Grand/ North on Sixth/ West on Jefferson/ South on State/ West on Washington/ Stopped at Fairhills Dollar Store for a bottle of iron vitamins/ Chatham to Fairway/ and home; about 2 hrs 15 mins....felt good.

Did the weekly cleaning and then called Elsie's House, got no answer and called Janny, no answer. Between 6pm and 7pm I was on the phone; about 35" with Lannie and the rest with Janny. Lannie sounded very nice and not as overcome with grief as I thought, and it was kind of a 'chat memorial' talking about his stay at Elsie's. Janny talked about taking the new airline and landing an hour Northwest of the city. They had problems getting food because the deli that they liked in Scottsdale was crammed with people getting snacks for the Super Bowl.

In the tub with some loud Art/Punk and more Henning Mankell.

Watching 'A RUSSIAN FAIRYTALE' (Amazon Prime) A documentary about 'feral' kids living on the unforgiving streets of a Russian city. Terrifyingly real- huffing glue, shooting up questionable drugs, prostitution, alcohol, HIV.  nowhere to call home; very sad. Then a 45"documentary about Edward Snowden who was the whistleblower about illegal surveillance on American citizens and the Right made it seem that he was the villain; also very sad.
