Up 710am; bright and sunny- to 50.
Wrote a 'Movie Wrap' and emailed it off.
The neighbors across the street are having their windows replaced by an outfit from Peoria. Checked the Internet and it looks like a real high price outfit.
Watched Netflix disc, 'MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS' Fantastic film about the relationship between Elizabeth I, Queen of England, and Mary, Queen of Scotland. Not historically accurate, but even if the meeting between these two important historical characters never really happened, this gives a very plausible illustration of how it might have been. Absolutely beautiful set design, costumes, and locations- it's a real feast for the eyes.
While waiting for the lawn guy:
Then, 'ZIPPER' (Netflix) A states attorney aspires for higher public office, but is caught up in an addiction to sexual escorts- hence the title; with Patrick Wilson/ Lena Headey/ Ray Winstone. Not bad- filmed in Baton Rouge, LA.
Mitch texted that he's on another job today, so we postponed till tomorrow- anytime before 2pm.
2pm- reading 'THE SILENT COMPANIONS', then to Wabash PO to buy a stamp for the life insurance claim and to mail the disc; Planet Fitness.
It now costs 55 cents to mail a letter. On the machines by 3pm. 45" Walk (WHITE DRAGON). 45" Recumbent Bike (skimming 'THE SILENT COMPANIONS'/ Motley Crue- Amazon Music). 45" Cross (WHITE DRAGON). 30" Walk (GIRLS). 30" Cross (OFF CAMERA- Ted Danson).
Just as I was leaving Planet Fitness I got a text from Mitch saying he would be over tomorrow at 1145am. Perfect!
Home to read in the tub (skimming the book club selection) and listened to BONES AND THUGS; early Rap.
'THE MIAMI SHOWBAND MASSACRE' (Netflix) In 1975 'The Miami Showband' (The Irish Beatles) were stopped at a Northern Ireland checkpoint, a bomb exploded, and several band members died. It seems that security forces of Britain were involved in these killings, but the facts still have not been released.
Then, 'John Mellencamp- 'PLAIN SPOKEN' (Netflix) A concert and he provides a voice-over about his roots; only watched about 20".
