Fr 5/31/19- New Bike Wheel/ Bike Rack

Fr 5/31/19

Up 620am; party sunny with temps to low 80's.

Watched Netflix disc, 'FREE SOLO' This is my favorite kind of documentary. It concerns a subject that did not interest me, but watching the film was a completely riveting experience. Alex Honnold is the free solo champion of the world, and the film is about his successful climb of El Capitan at Yosemite-  "Imagine having to compete for an Olympic gold medal, and if you make one single mistake, you die".

Then, the next episode of 'SNEAKY PETE' (Amazon Prime).

Watched the last part of the 'Foundation' conversation on YouTube with Adam Driver.

1115am: mowed the lawn. Done in just over an hour- not much raking required.

Got a text from Biketek and I didn't understand what Jeff? was saying. Although it was clear that there was a problem with the rear wheel. It needed replacement and that would be $115. I thought in the text that he was saying that he could get a replacement by '115pm'. I called and told him to go ahead and mount the new wheel, and we would attach the rack as well. He called back about 130pm and I drove over. The wheel looked good and when he brought out the rack box I asked him if that was the $60 rack, and he said that it was '$160". After a few moments, I said I'd take it. He put it on the trunk and it seems very simple to operate and I can put the bike far enough back so that the paint job is never in jeopardy.
Drove home and biked to Planet Fitness and dropped the disc at the Wabash PO.

45" Walk (The last episode of 'THE OA'- like nothing else, but I don't know if I understand it- maybe nobody does?). 45" Recumbent Bike (read 'CATCH ME'). 45" Cross (THE OA). 30" Bike (tried to listen to 'LIVE AT LEEDS' on YouTube- too many commercials). 30" Cross (OFF CAMERA- Lauren Cohan).
Home to soak with more Female Detective Fiction and Charlie Mingus/ Buddy Guy.

'GETTING OVER' (Amazon Prime) A documentary about a man who knew very little about his father, until his uncle shows him hours and hours of video tapes about the man. He learns that both his mother and father were both junkies, and his father was an incorrigible petty criminal. Then, the last half of the English bio of Bob Dylan.
