Sa 6/22/19- WATER DOWNSTAIRS!!!
Up 6am; Awoke around 2AM to a torrential downpour that lasted almost an hour, and 1"-2" of rain. Today a 40% chance of storms later this afternoon- 70's.
Went directly downstairs and sucked up about a half 'barrel' of water. I'll go down in a couple of hours to see if it has stopped or continued to seep.
The water is coming up from the slab in the center of the room. Also, water in the 'lamp area' and behind the couch. Not as bad as other incidents, but rain is in the forecast for the next three days.
Watched 'BEATS' (Netflix) August Monroe had his sister gunned down right in front of him on the mean streets of South Chicago (near Washington Park), and he now suffers from PTSD and stays isolated in his mother's apartment. A school guard/ ex-producer discovers August's producing skills and offers him hope. Certain areas in this country are actual war zones, and the film addresses this point, but no solutions or fixes, just the facts. Great soundtrack and stars 'Crazy Eyes' from ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK as August's mom.
Downstairs on 'suck patrol'...This incident is about as bad as it ever was. At 6am it hadn't seeped in, and it's still coming. I'd be sunk without the shop vac. I can't believe that the first time this happened I did it all with rags and a bucket. Dumped another 3/4 'barrel'.
Watched 'THE KISSING BOOTH' (Netflix) With Joey King and set in lavish Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and West Hollywood. They've been best friends since the day they were born, but she falls for his older brother. He's got a 'bad boy' rep, and she can't disappoint her 'bestie'. A better than average 'high school teen romance'.
1pm: One more 'suck up' downstairs and then to the 'Y'.
245pm on the machines at the 'Y'. 45" Walk (Reality TV All Workout). 45" Recumbent Bike. 45" Cross. 30" Walk. 30" Cross.
Home to read more Jack Reacher on the couch in the living room for about an hour. Then in the tub with 'CHICAGO' and more Lee Child.
In the living room tonight. The water has stopped seeping in, and I sucked only about an 1/8 of a barrel. Storms could hit tonight about the same time as last night- 2am. And, more could hit late Sunday night. I won't use the fans until I know that there will not be any more standing water.
Tonight more 'SNEAKY PETE'. Caught up with the one before, and then watched a YouTube interview with Giovanni Ribisi and Margo Martindale, then another HOLLYWOOD ROUND-TABLE about the show. Shocked to learn that Ribisi is a happy Scientologist- "it works for me"!
