Up 650am; hot and steamy already. Temps to low 90's and Discomfort Index into three digits, and a chance of rain or storm this afternoon.

Threw away the battery operated vacuum so that I must get a replacement by Sunday.

Wrote up 'MIDTOWN SOUTH' by Christopher Newman for the blog.

Watched 'HIGH-RISE' (Netflix) Economic and social chaos descend on a 'new' 70's style English high-rise apartment complex. The film is based on a J.G. Ballard novel with his wry appreciation of anarchy and radical politics; Tom Hiddleston/ Jeremy Irons/ Sienna Miller/ Elizabeth Moss.

Then a Mongolian film on Amazon Prime called, 'BEYOND'.  Two brothers are part of a criminal gang, and their boss, The Ice Queen, has them go to the country and get a land document from a gangster. This other  gang is run by a Chinese man and he is not Mongolian and stealing Mongolian minerals.  A central premise of the film is that 'Mongolia Is For Mongols Only'.  Kind of a comedic/ buddy picture, but the first time I've ever seen modern day Mongolia- fancy cars, big city life, and even a shopping center.

240pm: The Elantra to the 'Y', then to Walmart for new vacuum. To hot for the bike!

45" Walk. (Reality TV All Workout). 45" Recumbent Bike. 45" Cross. 30" Walk. 30" Cross.

To Walmart and I bought a $55 electric sweeper. I can buy two for the price of the old, battery powered model, and it has a 23 ft. cord. Should be plenty for all of the rooms at 940. And, I got a 15 pack of 'Ice Stones'.

Home to soak and listen to 'SCARY MONSTERS'- Bowie and read more of PK Dick 'EYES IN THE SKY'.

The next 'GENERATION KILL' (Amazon Prime) and then an early 'CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM'

I first thought that they were for the house across the street, but it looks like the action is farther down the road. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
