Up 735am; another sunny day in the mid to upper 80's. Rain forecast for the weekend.
I got a text from Janny that the check for the return of the last payment to Elsie's House bounced. They will come over tomorrow (as planned) and we will discuss this issue. What's the big deal? All they have to do is make the check good, and we will 'gift' it to the house.
Watched Netflix disc, 'THREE IDENTICAL STRANGERS'. In 1980 three college aged boys learn that they were separated at birth, and that they were triplets! The darker side of the film is that their adoption agency was very much aware of the separation. They were doing a secret study about 'Nature Vs. Nurture' and all of the results have been sealed until 2066. Another very fine documentary.
Then, 'SATAN & ADAM' (Netflix) Another very fine documentary:
"SATAN & ADAM chronicles the unlikely pairing of legendary one-man-band Sterling "Mr. Satan" Magee and harmonica master Adam Gussow. Shot over 20 years, the film showcases one of the greatest blues duos you probably never got a chance to see. Magee and Gussow came together on the streets of Harlem in the 1980s, a time when race relations in New York City were at an all-time low. From completely different worlds, these two musicians forged a lifelong relationship that showcases the unifying power of music."
120pm: Checked the oil in the machine and then mowed the lawn. Cut back a lot of tree growth on the gate side of the backyard and when I got home from the shopping I trimmed back many of the limbs on the tree in the back. All done in just about an hour. Looks good, but I hope it rains over the weekend- crunchy dry.
3pm: Drove to Planet Fitness, dropped off the disc. 45" Walk (First episode of 'TOP BOY'). 45" Recumbent Bike (Read 'THE FAR FIELD'/ MELISSA ETHERIDGE). 45" Cross (TOP BOY). 30" Walk (Watched a YouTube interview with Bob Mold). 30" Cross (An interview with Greg Norton and I got Mold's new album on Amazon Prime 'SUNSHINE ROCK').
To County Market/ Fairhills. First I bought 4 boxes of incense and 4 bars of soap at the Dollar Store, and the card in the car is up and running! $52 in groceries.
Home to soak and read more 'THE FAR FIELD' and finished 'SUNSHINE ROCK' and then THE CLASH.
Episode #6 'UNBELIEVABLE' (Netflix), then the pilot for 'THE PRACTICE' (Amazon Prime) with Dylan McDermott.
