Up 735am: Periods of rain, drizzle, and chance of light snow through tomorrow- to about 50 today.
Watched Netflix disc, 'Medicine For Melancholy'. I reported this disc missing. It should have arrived last week. A couple awake after a drunken hookup and grow to know each other over the next 24 hours. A cinematic valentine to the city of San Francisco with some slightly grating information about gentrification and race; Wyatt Cenac and Tracey Heggins.
Then 'PARTS YOU LOSE' (Hoopla) I have one more choice and this is the last day of the month! A young deaf boy takes in a wounded fugitive. He tells no one, and cares for man in a barn on his family's farm and they develop a kind of friendship; with Aaron Paul, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Scoot McNairy. Shot near Manitoba, Canada in the dead of winter.
120pm: PC is 'Off' and I'm filling in the form to get the $47 for the shingles shot from YSA. Read for a while and then to the Wabash PO and Planet Fitness.
3pm: On the machines at Planet Fitness. 45" Walk (True Crime). 45" Recumbent Bike (Read 'THE GRIFTERS' and listened to FEVER TREE YouTube). 45" Cross (True Crime). 30" Walk (True Crime). 30" Cross (Re-listened to OFF CAMERA- Scoot McNairy. He was in this morning's film 'PARTS YOU LOSE'.
I was going to hit the Dollar Store up the hill from Planet Fitness but this is 'BLACK FRIDAY WEEKEND'. Will hit the Dollar Store at Fairhills when I do the shopping on Monday.
In the tub with more Jim Thompson and SWERVEDRIVER and ACOUSTIC BOB DYLAN.
I watched, 'SNOW ON THA BLUFF' that was my last pick from Hoopla for November and I did two today. I get five picks a month, and I should do that each and every month.
The film is technically a kind of an homage to the 'BLAIR WITCH PROJECT' only this time a car full of rich kids goes to a surprisingly suburban Atlanta ghetto to score, and they get ripped off for money and their camera. The thief uses the camera to record his daily life. The 'take-away' from this film is that the language of the ghetto is so constricting that it doesn't come close to revealing what the people are expressing. The slang is so 'dumbed-down' that it's not even relevant to communication. However, I'd give the movie at least four and a half stars.
Then the very first two episodes of 'BOJACK HORSEMAN'.
