Up 730am: Partly sunny with temps to mid 30's.

Watched, 'THE CAPTIVE' (My last pick of the month from Hoopla). A nine year old girl is kidnapped when her father goes into a truck stop store to buy pie and ice cream on a wintry Niagara afternoon. The girl is kept in a secret underground apartment for eight years and she is used as a tout for an Internet ring of pedophiles. This part is not developed in the film (a totally creepy concept), but it's hinted that there might even be subscribers to the network and that not only to traffics in images of children, but they also document (with hidden cameras) the parents' grief over their loss. This was a truly unsettling and spine-chilling film directed by Atom Egoyan; with Mireille Enos, Rosario Dawson, Bruce Greenwood, and Ryan Reynolds.

Then, 'THE REVENGE OF THE MEKONS' (Kanopy). An excellent biography of a true, 'Musical Art Collective'. I was kind of surprised to learn that almost 20 people have been 'Mekons' over the years- including Dick Taylor, the first bassist of The Stones and a founding member of The Pretty Things.

OPEN HOUSE next door. Should I go over? I did not, but I should have.

1pm: Out the door for the 'Y'. When I get back I MUST check out the directions on the colonoscopy kit in case I have any questions, and then do the weekly cleaning.

I didn't go to the Open House, but I should have...
On the machines at the 'Y' by 130pm.
45" Walk (TV all workout...Kobe Bryant died so no talk of the Republican Defense; a kind of relief). 45" Recumbent Bike. 45" Cross. 30" Walk. 30" Cross.

Home to do the Weekly Cleaning and then I spent about twenty minutes on the living room couch reading the instructions for the colonoscopy prep. Seems fairly straightforward and I seem to have no questions. They call on Wednesday for the official registration, but I think I should be good.

In the tub with more of MYRON BOLITAR and listened to JON LANGFORD AND HIS SADIES and THE SADIES.

Then 'JONESY'S JUKEBOX' with Dave Wakeling of The English Beat, and  Jonesy's interview with Todd Rundgren. Rundgren's influence was truly vast, and without him, I think the music of the 70's might have been very different.  He produced The James Gang, Badfinger, Meat Loaf, XTC, The Band, Janis Joplin, Cheap Trick, The Tubes, Bad Religion, Hall & Oates, as well as The New York Dolls.
