*****For some reason I never sent the extensive notes that I made this morning, so this is 'how it was' from the perspective of 829pm on Monday evening******

Up 640am: Mostly cloudy and mid 30's for the high.
I watched a crazy Scorsese film called 'BRINGING OUT THE DEAD' (Amazon Prime). A chronicle of three nights in the life of a NYC ambulance nurse. He's crazed, unhinged, and only wants to be fired, but he's too badly needed; with Nicolas Cage, Patricia Arquette, John Goodman, Ving Rhames, and Tom Sizemore. Cage's character is similar to the guy that he portrayed in 'LEAVING LAS VEGAS'.
Then I watched, 'THE HORSE GIRL' (Netflix); with Alison Brie (One of the stars of GLOW) and Molly Shannon.
Chicago Sun Times:"Brie’s performance is open and honest and disturbing and funny and lovely and resonant. The work is so good and so convincing that even when Sarah is spouting the craziest of her mad theories, there’s a small part of us that wonders if Sarah’s truth is the real truth. We certainly believe SHE believes."
The New York Times:"Horse Girl delves into a troubled mind only to get lost among its oddities, forgetting the sensitivity that drew it there in the first place."
I liked this quirky film alot and Alison Brie made me remember that she was always the hottest foil for Marc Maron on GLOW.
Then cranked out the Weekly Wrap and sent it off. I decided to not mention the text from Jamie about Joe's surprise birthday party next Saturday. But, I will be a definite No Show.
Read and listened to the living room Boom and on the machines at LA Fitness around 3pm.
45" Walk (THE STRANGER). 45" Recumbent Bike (MATHEW SCUDDER and listened to SLATER KINNEY and SOUNDGARDEN. 45" Cross (THE STRANGER). 30" Walk (THE STRANGER). 30" Cross (THE STRANGER).
Home to soak and got the bio of Steve Jones in the mail and read the first several pages before heading back to Scudder's 1980's NYC; listened to SPIDER BAGS and SPINDRIFT.
Then an excessively long session trying to remember and transcribe the day's events... (I've had a bong and feelin' fine)...
Then watched, 'I AM A KILLER' (Netflix). The story of a sub-normal IQ inmate in a Virginia prison for murder. He stabbed and killed a 72 year old woman, but it's possible that the excessive abuse that he suffered as a kid might mitigate his sentence.
Then, 'DAVID BOWIE: THE SACRED TRIANGLE' (Amazon Prime). The film charts the relationship between Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, and David Bowie. Bowie's influence rises and paves the way for a completely different style of music. Reed and Pop incorporate his ideas, and they all go on to achieve greatness.
