We 2/26/2020- Book Club Tonight
Up 710am:We got about three or four inches last night. Today it should stop late this morning and temps will be in the lower thirties with wind gusts close to 30 mph.
745-810 am: Out to shovel and take the blue can to the curb. 1210pm: Got a robocall from Republic saying that they will run two to three hours behind today. Wow!
Watched, 'THE LAST THING HE WANTED' (Netflix). A female reporter gets caught up in a bizzare arms deal in Central America in Reagan's America. Surprisingly weak, considering the leads in the film; with Anne Hathaway, Ben Affleck (I thought this was an actor that looked like Ben Affleck!), Rosie Perez, and Willem Dafoe.
Read reviews of 'EDUCATED' and skimmed some of the Ebook.
1230pm: To Planet Fitness for a workout and then back to shower and hit the meeting.
45" Walk (JONESY'S JUKEBOX). 45" Recumbent Bike (Read 'EDUCATED' and listened to THE SMITHS and STEELY DAN). 45" Walk (NARCOS). 45" Cross (NARCOS listened to STEELY DAN).
Showered and then used the Chromebook for more background on EDUCATED.
525pm: Left for the meeting and only seven including me showed up. Most liked the book, but weren't wild about it. A nice discussion.
Watched 'THE LAST STAND' (Amazon Prime); with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Forest Whitaker, Johnny Knoxville.
"Sheriff Owens is a man who has resigned himself to a life of fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction after leaving his LAPD post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with failure and defeat after his partner was crippled. After a spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy, the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the hemisphere is hurtling toward the border at 200 mph in a specially outfitted car with a hostage and a fierce army of gang members. He is headed, it turns out, straight for Summerton Junction, where the whole of U.S. law enforcement will have their last opportunity to make a stand and intercept him before he slips across the border forever. At first reluctant to become involved, and then counted out because of the perceived ineptitude of his small town force, Owens ultimately accepts responsibility for the face off."
****Another Beer...Then some YouTube video of early BLACK SABBATH.
And another 'FOREVER' (Amazon Prime)
