Up 745am: Cloudy to sunny, very windy with temps to about 60, but felt much cooler.

Watched Netflix disc, 'GUNG HO'. A Ron Howard Film. A Japanese car company opens a plant in a Pennsylvania town and culture clash ensues. It's basically just a set-up for a bunch of gags and it could have been just as funny if the Japanese characters were more than caricatures; with Michael Keaton, Gedde Watanabe, George Wendt, Mimi Rogers, and John Turturro.

1230: Will read ELIZABETH BERG for a couple of hours and scanned the Internet. Found a new band, 'BLACK PISTOL FIRE'.

Read/Napped till shortly before 4pm and then did the weekly cleaning. At 5pm Sharp! I hit the streets to mail back the Netflix disc.

Up Westview to Parkview to Oakmount, then over to Old Jacks across Monroe and mailed the disc at the box in front of the middle eastern grocery near Lawrence and Durkin. South on Durkin and right on Cooper, then back on Oxford (Big houses on such little plots! Ten feet of grass on the sides and fifteen in the back). Down Lawrence by the phone company building at Lawrence and Monroe and down to Chatham. Behind the day care and back down Fairway to Greenview and up Parkview and down Westview. ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN. Swept the leaves over the breezeway.

In the tub with more ELIZABETH BERG and BLACK PISTOL FIRE and BLACK SABBATH.

I tried to watch, 'THE FORGOTTEN' on Hoopla, but the library had used all of its' 'borrowing power'. Another day....

Then watched, 'VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED' (Kanopy). "Twenty-one year old Ben is following his TV-obsessed Dad to explore how television consumption has evolved from one generation to the next. Television used to bring people together. Does television now fragment us as a culture?"The father is weirdly in thrall of  60's and 70's TV and his son is distant and almost ashamed of his father's devotion only to those particular shows. Dad tries to present his shows as 'better' and as the film unfolds we see that this is not necessarily true. How could any thinking person claim that 'I DREAM OF JEANNIE' be a better television than 'BREAKING BAD'? Dad is a dingbat, but the film becomes more acceptable when his storyline is dropped.

Then watched an episode of '48 HOURS' (IMDB-TV). A Memphis woman is shot in a burning house and a Detroit man is shot and his killer tries to hijack a van.

Then another, 'UGLY DELICIOUS' (Netflix). Fried chicken around the world; with Aziz Ansari and a couple of other guests. A very interesting point of view- Black people do not like to be associated with fried chicken or watermelon because of the stigma. 'Chicken and watermelon' for some ignorant people is often used as racist code for 'nigger'.
