Up 630am: The rain ended sometime last night and today it's to be mostly sunny with temps to low 60's.

***I spent about twenty-five minutes vacuuming the downstairs area. I am still getting water seepage along the trench that was dug for the sump pump. I did hear the pump run last night, so it is working, but the effectiveness is difficult to determine. Would it have been worse had the pump not been installed? The biggest area of water is along the wall behind the PC and in the 'Stones Corner'.

Watched, 'EXTRACTION' (Netflix). The biggest drug dealer in Bangladesh kidnaps the son of the biggest drug dealer in India and a mercenary is called in to save the boy.  Lots of martial arts, car chases, explosions, and gun fights make it watchable, but obviously no new ground was broken.

Then watched, 'MODEL MAJORITY' (Amazon Prime). A solid Independent about a dysfunctional Japanese/ American family living in a poor section of Los Angeles. Mom's hooked on pills, Dad drinks, and the two high school sisters get involved with a bad crowd. The older sister goes to juvie when she's busted with her dealer boyfriend and he turns in a rival dealer to avoid punishment. In juvenile detention she learns that her younger sister and her dealer boyfriend were both gunned down because he ratted. Not as sappy as it sounds and worth a look.

1230 pm: PC is 'Off' and will read more of Ross Thomas and a long walk later.

Read/napped in living room chair until I was on the street at 340 pm: Up Westview to Parkview, Oakmont, Pebble Beach east to Laurel.....TOOK A PICTURE OF THE STATUE OF THE BOY WITH THE US FLAG WEARING A MASK: LAUREL/ ILLINI...Laurel to MacArthur to 'panhandle'. East/North/West around the panhandle and through the park on the north side. South on the 'geese sidewalk' and up the hill. Across on the golf course path to Fairway then up to 940. TWO HOURS; Mp3- LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM, 'Old Kit Bag'- RICHARD THOMPSON, and SPOOKY TWO. Read for about 20" then did the Weekly Cleanup (upstairs only!). Then in the tub with ROSS THOMAS and 'I MONSTER' and 'THE EURYTHMICS'.

Watched, 'ONCE FALLEN' (Amazon Prime). A man gets out of prison after five years and tries to start anew. He learns he has a toddler and his girlfriend immediately splits and leaves the boy in his care. Completely unbelievable and almost none of this film is even close to anything reality based. But Peter Weller has some 'old guy, crazy, jazzy, hipster' lines and Ed Harris plays his usual character- taciturn and tough.

Then I noticed that 'SCHITT'S CREEK' is available on Netflix, so I watched the next episode. Brother goes turkey hunting and Mom gets a 'new-do'.

Then the next, '#blackAF' (Netflix). A thought provoking topic. Dad wonders if blacks and whites are honest in their appraisals of art. Blacks will automatically like something by black artists merely because the artist is black and they want to be seen as supporting  'blackness'. And whites won't like black art simply because they won't get it because it's not really intended for a white audience. Dad might have a point in that he wants critical thought to be guided by what is really felt, not what is just socially or politically correct.
