We 4/8/2020

Up 830am: Mostly sunny with temps to high 60's. When I awoke it was 74 in the house.

***Tried to order the Ventolin refill at Walmart, but the prescription had been dropped since I hadn't refilled in three years. I called Ellison's office, and they will see if it can be activated. They'll call me back.

Watched, 'Krisha' (Kanopy). I had seen this one before, but well worth a second viewing. Krisha is a woman in her sixties who has been trying to sober up and get her life back under control. The film is about her ill fated reintroduction to her extended family on Thanksgiving. Too Much Too Soon. A fantastic Independent film!

Then watched, 'THE BRAND NEW TESTAMENT' (Hoopla). Christian theology is revisited. God is a cranky guy who lives in Brussels, married to a 'goddess' who won't stand up to him, and his son, JC (one of the characters thinks that 'JC' would be Jean-Claude Van Damme) got himself killed and stuck up on a cross like an owl. God's ten year old daughter leaves home and releases the exact amount of time that each individual person has left. This radically changes life on earth and she also finds six more apostles. Strange and enchanting, I loved it; with Catherine Deneuve.

***First time in shorts and yesterday was the first time that I'd opened the windows this season.

230pm: It was so nice I decided to take out the bike.

***Almost at that moment the Internet went off. I spent several minutes 'Agitated Dithering' and got the connection on the phone telling me that 'service was down in the area' for under two hours. When I left on the bike I noticed an Xfinity truck three houses up the street.

330pm: On the bike. Up Westview and over to Parkview and down to the park. Into the park and the first street heading west I took through 'Springfield's Winnetka'. Far south and deep into the subdivision west of the Goodwill on Outer Drive. Then into the southside neighborhoods...State/Glenwood/ Walnut/ and east.
***I stopped at Ash and Glenwood and talked to Jamie for a few minutes. He was mowing his back lawn and the kids were at nap. Later I got a picture from Janny saying that Melissa had sent an 'unidentified sighting of Ken'. Continued north and went by 1315 Walnut. Like from a different lifetime. Then biked around the area near the apartment building where Chris died. Then into the park and through on the southside to Parkview over to Interlaken and Down Fairway and over to 940- JUST UNDER TWO HOURS.

Read more Baldacci and listened to PORTISHEAD- 'Dummy', THE GRATEFUL DEAD- 'American Beauty', and GREYHOUNDS- 'Accumulator'. The title of the Portishead album refers to what the English call a 'pacifier'- a 'dummy'. Probably the most misinterpreted title ever!

In the tub at 830pm with more Baldacci and THE GREENHORNES and GROOVE ARMADA.

Watched, " 'NIGHT, MOTHER " (Hoopla). Mother and Daughter Melodrama- Tonight's the night daughter will end her life and she must tell her mother before she pulls the trigger. More than a little 'scene-chewing', but still worth a look.

Then the next episode of, 'KILLER RATINGS' (Netflix). More skullduggery in contemporary Brazilian government.

In bed and reading by  midnight.
