Up 7am: Partly cloudy and hot; to low 90's. The  AC is on with the ceiling fan in the living room 'On'.

Tried to determine why Google Play was not uploading music. This has happened before, and I can't transfer Google Play to YouTube 'at the present time' (it says).

Watched Netflix disc, 'THE EDGE OF HEAVEN'. From Roger Ebert's review of the film, "...we are so accustomed to all the stories converging at the end of a hyperlink film. Not this time. The characters are related in theme, but not in plot." An old man pays a prostitute to live with him. It works for a while, but they get into a fight, he hits her, she falls and dies. The old man goes to prison, but his son goes to Turkey to find the woman's daughter to pay for her schooling. This young woman has had no contact with her mother for many years and has become involved in a movement to overthrow the government. In a demonstration she steals a cop's gun, hides it, but she is caught and sentenced to prison. When she gets out, she's befriended by a young woman, who (after a strange turn of events) is shot and killed by the 'hidden gun', and the plot twists and turns just keep coming. This film won numerous international awards and is a real stunner of a film. One of the best!  

Then watched, 'JUST MERCY' (Ordered on Hoopla yesterday). A powerful film about a black man in Alabama sentenced to die for a murder he did not commit. Some instances of over-the-top 'speech-a-fying', but overall very well done.

3pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a slightly earlier walk (in the intense heat) downtown later this afternoon.

Watched a 56" YouTube video, 'JEFFREY EPSTEIN: THE GAME OF THE GLOBAL ELITE'. ...HETERODOX THINKING- a classier word for 'believing in fringe theories; ex. vaccines cause autism, the moon landing was staged, Global Warming is a hoax. Then I watched, 'OPIOIDS, INC.'. A YouTube documentary (53") about a company that marketed a drug with Fentanyl and how they made millions and hooked hundreds of thousands of people; INSYS- THERAPEUTICS, INC, John Kapoor- multi-millionaire, pharmaceutical entrepreneur and CEO of Insys Therapeutics.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
