Up 640am: Sunny and temps to mid 80's.
Watched 'HEIST: WHO STOLE THE AMERICAN DREAM' (Kanopy). Glass-Steagall Legislation stopped local commercial banks from joining the 'Wall Street Investment Banking Casino' and forced them to loan to local communities and insure solvency. What could be wrong with that? My post at Kanopy:
"A great nation is not one with the most billionaires and millionaires, but one with a flourishing middle class where the majority of people do well and not just the wealthiest. This is the central thesis of the film and that was 'The American Dream' that we had up until the 1980's, but what we have now is a system in which you MUST be asleep to believe in any 'dream'."
Then I watched 'THE STRANGE LITTLE CAT' (Kanopy). My post at Kanopy:
"This is not a film in the traditional sense but more of an attempt to provide a simple snapshot into the daily life of an ordinary family. I don't think it was meant to contain 'meaning' or 'message', but only to document quotidian life and I don't even think that it qualifies as 'domestic drama'. It truly 'Is' only what it appears to be."
Then watched 'CLOSURE' (Amazon Prime). A young woman travels from Kansas to Los Angeles to locate her 'lost' sister to tell her that their mother has died. A well-done and laid-back Independent that skewers the pretenses of The City of Angels. Directed by Alex Goldberg and stars his wife, Catia Ojeda.
310pm: Messed around on the Internet and tried to get motivated. I think I'll take the bike to the trail behind Westside and today I'll head south. Hopefully, tomorrow I can do a nice long jog/walk on my brand new treadmill.
355pm. On the bike to the trail and this time south... A wide asphalt path at the turnoff west of the 'Y'. Back east normal way from the 'Y'... Sports bar had a bunch of tables. Smart.. Meandered east. AN HOUR AND A HALF. Mp3. SLOBBERBONE.
Home to research some cds for the Mp3 and read. Tape of LIVE DEAD.
In the tub with RUSSO and PAUL RODGERS LIVE, FAMILY, and OLIVER STONE on The Joe Rogan Experience.
Watched 'THE GREASY STRANGLER' (Amazon Prime). Quirky, off beat, improvisational, skit comedy, gross-out. Full male nudity with prosthetic penises. Unforgettable; starring John Travolta's former hair dresser.
Then another episode of 'HELL'S KITCHEN' (Amazon Prime). Two teams of chefs, The Blue and The Red, battle it out to see who's the best... according to the world renown, vain and egotistical, egomaniac- Gordon Ramsay.
