We 7/29/20- Treadmill Delivery
Up 710am: Mostly sunny with temperature to 90.
Added three CDs to Mp3; Steve Earle- 'Train A Comin', David Bowie- 'Lodger', and Guided By Voices- 'Bee Thousand'.
Watched 'CAPTAIN FANTASTIC' (Kanopy). My post at Kanopy:
"A single father attempts to raise his children 'off the grid' in the American Northwest. The film's resolution offers a kind of compromise between 'Love It Or Leave It' and 'Stick It To The Man', but I wonder what will become of this family over the next several years. I guess all they can do is follow Bob Dylan's adage, "To Live Outside the Law You Must be Honest". And given the character of the father and his kids, maybe they have a shot." (with Viggo Mortensen, Steve Zahn, Kathryn Hahn, and Frank Langella)
***Called Body Quest with a question about using an extension cord. The unit comes with an eight foot cord so I think I'll locate it next to the dryer. I just won't run the dryer when I'm on the treadmill. He said that the 100 ft. cord would be too much of a drain on the power.
Watched 'MORRIS FROM AMERICA' (Kanopy). My post at Kanopy:
"A sweet, 'coming of age tale' of a Black American teen and his father who have relocated to Germany. It's a well-written screenplay and Craig Robinson and Markees Christmas performances seemed genuine and from the heart."
Then I messed around and watched a CNN video about Trump promoting a completely off-the-wall 'expert'. My post at YouTube:
"In science and medicine there is something called 'Peer Review'. This is where new ideas are scrutinized by other experts in the same field before the results are released to ensure that the work is valid. Trump has a long history of gravitating to ideas that support his flawed opinions and he cares little if his 'experts' have any standing whatsoever within the scientific community."
4pm: PC is 'Off' and waiting for the delivery of the treadmill.
Body Quest called right at 4pm from out front. 3 guys. Assembly and hook up in just over 30 mins. I walked to ACE on Walnut for a 10 ft. extension.
5pm...Lawrence, Edwards, State, and across Jefferson. $20! Back the same way more or less. Mp3. STEVE EARL, SLOBBERBONE... ONE HOUR 45 MINS.
In the tub with RUSSO and the manual. Listened to BLODWYN PIG- 'Ahead Rings Out'... A brilliant album!...LIVE QUICKSILVER MESSENGER SERVICE 1968.
Watched 'LAUNDRY DAY' (Amazon Prime). Very low budget Independent that presents several complicated, yet converging story-lines about a collection of lowlifes who frequent a dive-bar in New Orleans. Ambitious, but almost like a student film, still worth a look.
Then an episode of 'THE STIX' (Amazon Prime). A low budget, 'starless', West Tennessee police procedural.
