We 7/8/20
We 7/8/20
Up 645am: Hot and humid with a possibility of pop up showers later this afternoon- low 90's with Discomfort Index to three digits.
***The plan is to mow the lawn before the rain.
Watched 'BRONSON' (dir. Nicolas Winding Refn). "...an utterly repellent look at a psychopath..." or "...Bronson invites you to admire its protagonist as a pure, muscular embodiment of anarchy."
Not a lot of story-line, plot, or character development, but we watch spellbound as this fully developed psychopath explodes on the screen. Tom Hardy perfectly embodied the role of the true life character, Michael Peterson, "England's most notorious prisoner".
10am: PC is on 'Sleep' and I mowed the lawn. Finished about 1115am (raked and some trimming) and within a half hour it got very dark and thunder ringing in the distance, but it blew over.
***At Boozer's old house guys are building a metal 'pergola'.
And there is a sign in front of the house about an outfit to 'water seal basements'. I might give these guys a call.
Noon: smoked a small bud and watched 'ADOLESCENCE' (Amazon Prime). Corny and includes nearly every cliche of the genre:
"When a creative, sensitive teen from a dysfunctional family meets a beautiful, enigmatic runaway; his life is turned upside down when he travels the dark path with her toward parties and drug addiction."
Then I watched the next episode of 'BOSCH' (Amazon Prime).
Read OZONE in the living room and will walk later.
Cloud burst at 4pm. Did not lesson the humidity.
420pm. Parkview, Country Club, Laurel. North on Park and thru Wash. Pk. Edwards, Lawrence, Fairway 940. ONE HOUR 45 Mins. .Mp3. Tom Waits 'Swordfishtrombone', Stones 'Now', THE KINKS 'KRONIKLES' .
Read 30 mins in the living room, then in the tub with THEROUX and listened to LESTER YOUNG, RAMSEY LEWIS TRIO 'In Crowd', HANK MOBLEY 'Soul Station'.
Watched, 'THE ROLLING STONES- TOTALLY STRIPPED' (Amazon Prime). From the 1995 tour and DVD.Watched the first ten minutes 'LOVE IN VAIN' and what the film would be about; "To capture the intimacy of 'Studio' with the intensity of 'Live'."
Then the next episode of 'THE INNOCENCE FILES: The Witness: The Murder of Donald Sarpy' (Netflix). A kid is convicted of a drive-by murder on spurious eye witness testimony. The witness was coached by investigators with photos that they claimed were of the shooter. A kind of 'shout out' to the fallacy of eye witness testimony. The excessive use of 'photo books' by police can steer witnesses to believe who the police want to incriminate.
Then the last episode of Season 1, 'SCHITTS CREEK' (Amazon Prime). They thought that they had found a buyer for the town, but he died before he could sign.
