Up 730am: More beautiful sunny weather- temps to 80.

Watched Netflix disc 'LITTLE WOMEN'. This was one of the better films of the year- 73 wins and 185 nominations; with Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Laura Drn, Timothee Chalamet, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Crish Cooper, and Meryl Streep.  

From The Hollywood Reporter:"... coltish physicality and hard-charging pluck by the luminous Saoirse Ronan...

From The A.V. Club: "Little Women is the best kind of Hollywood film: thoughtful yet escapist, sophisticated yet accessible, expertly crafted and deeply felt." 

Then I watched 'WHAT KEEPS YOU ALIVE' (Netflix). A Canadian film about a married lesbian couple who go to a secluded lake house where Jules learns that her wife is a homicidal maniac when she pushes her over a cliff. She lives, but Jules's wife is hunting her down. Had this been the story of a hetero couple it wouldn't have had nearly the same impact as a same sex couple- just because this way is different. Filmed 130 miles north of Toronto, CA.

230pm: The plan is to bike to the Wabash PO to mail the disc, but I got to Drawbridge Rd. {old battery store} and handed it off to a mailman who just emptied the box. 40 minute ride. 

245pm. Smoked a bowl and down to Fairway, Greenview, Parkview, Wash. Pk., north side and east on Williams frontage, MacArthur, Lowell, west on Laurel, Wiggins north and up hill on road, Parkview and down to 940. ONE HOUR 45 MINS. Mp3 'A Blessing And A Curse' ~ DBT's,  CLAPTON/WINWOOD LIVE. 

Home to finish MODEL BEHAVIOR, pick a new book, and listen to tapes. Settled on 'DUTCH SHEA, JR. ~ John Gregory Dunne, AND in the tub listening to BEST OF ROD STEWART,' 'Strange Days' ~ THE DOORS, THE BEST OF THE BOX TOPS. 

Watched 'LOSERS TAKE ALL' (Amazon Prime). Low budget Independent about a local Memphis garage band, 'The Fingers' who pay some rock'n'roll dues and get to open for The Replacements; no stars and filmed in and around Memphis, TN.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character.  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
