Mo 8/3/20

Up 710am: Cloudy and cool with a slight chance of- temps to mid 70's.

I wrote up 'STRAIGHT MAN'- Richard Russo for the blog.

Watched 'THE HATER' (Netflix). An ambitious Polish deceiver insinuates himself into the corporate world of social media and demonstrates how much power could accrue to a sociopath who was able to shape and control the flow of social media. Much more is done than trolling online communities and events are staged to be disrupted by 'terrorists' who have been hired and manipulated by the organizers. A very well-done film.

I wrote The Wrap and invited Janny and Joe to come over any day at 1130am. We could sit on the breezeway to chat and I could show them the new treadmill. I asked for a day's notice.

Then I watched the last two episodes of 'FEAR CITY: NEW YORK VS. THE MAFIA'. Authorities were able to determine that the eight NY families had control of the union controlling all of the concrete that was poured in NYC during the 80's. The mob took 2% off the top and law enforcement were able to show that because of this connection they could prove conspiracy under RICO.

315pm: PC is 'Off' and I'm downstairs to watch 'DEVIL'S GATE' on the treadmill. I will stream it instead of downloading like I used to do at the health clubs.

6 MILES IN AN HOUR AND 55 MINS. To a 3.4 pace. Watched half of 'GRATEFUL DAWG' and then over an hour of Joe Rogan's interview with EDWARD NORTON.

In the living room listening to a tape of SALLY TIMMS~ 'Cowboy Sally'  and reading MODEL BEHAVIOR.

In the tub with MODEL BEHAVIOR and listening to MUSWELL HILLBILLIES, THE DIPLOMATS OF SOLID SOUND, THE SUFFERS. I'm getting hip to a lot of the new 'Neo Soul' music.

Watched a truly (maybe) disturbing episode of 'GETTING DOUG WITH HIGH'. Anthony Jeselnik seemed to be actively insulting near the last segment of the podcast and Doug seemed in a disagreeable mood or as if he had been offended, but it all could have been a bit.

Then I began  'TRAILER PARK JESUS' (Amazon Prime). A young guy driving from New Orleans to St. Louis has car trouble in Mississippi (although the film was done entirely in Louisiana) and in return for a ride to the bus station later in the evening he 'turns on' most of the trailer park to hits of LSD. Extremely strange.
