Up 645am: Sunny and even warmer- mid 80's.
I added JABBERJAW, THE STREETS, and PANTHALASSA (Miles Davis).
I watched 'STINKING HEAVEN' (Kanopy). My post on Kanopy:
"This is more of an acting exercise than a feature film and it didn't seem to commit to either dark satire or stark drama."
But then I learned that the comments section for Kanopy has been discontinued.
Then watched 'JANE AND EMMA' (Amazon Prime). The film is about the relationship between Emma Hale Smith, wife of Prophet Joseph Smith of Latter-day Saints, and Jane Manning James, a freed black woman who, along with her family, became converted members of the faith. The night that Prophet Smith was murdered Emma demands that all church members leave her to grieve the loss of her husband with just her friend, Jane. An interesting film because it did not gloss over the racist attitudes of many of the 'saved' within the congregation. And, it sheds light on Emma's role as the wife of a prophet who is loved and venerated by the believers, yet she was his wife; with Danielle Deadwyler and Emily Goss.
I wasted (enjoyed) over an hour watching and reading reddit.
140pm: Gearing up for a walk to the Monroe PO to mail back the Netflix disc. Napped and read.
325pm...Edwards, Monroe PO box, South on 5th, West on South Grand alley, thru Washington Park, up the hill, Parkview, down to 940. 2 HOURS 15 MINS. Mp3... MOBY- '18', HENRY THREADGILL- 'Carry The Day'.
Read A FAINT COLD FEAR in the living room 30 mins.
In the tub with more DALEY and listening to FU MANCHU, BONGRIPPER, ACID KING (A Sludge Rock Band from Rolling Meadows- relocated to San Francisco).
I watched 'TOM WAITS- UNDER THE INFLUENCE' (Amazon Prime). More about the influences of Jack Kerouac and Lord Buckley than Waits himself, but interesting nonetheless. Saved over an hour of it for later (2' 30" total), and then watched the next episode of 'SELLING SUNSET'.
