We 8/26/20- New Casio Watch
We 8/26/20
Up 705am: Partly sunny and hot with temps to just over 90.
I added 'Monster'- REM and 'Too High To Die'- THE MEAT PUPPETS to the Mp3 player and deleted UNCLE TUPELO, LOU REED, and IAN MOORE.
I watched 'THE CRIMES THAT BIND' (Netflix). An Argentinian film about infanticide, rape, and class privileged. A wealthy couple does everything that they can to support and defend their son until they realize that he is an immature huckster and a violent rapist. When the truth is exposed the couple reject their son's plea for help and offer emotional and monetary support to the women and children that he abused. A strange yet effective ending.
Then I watched 'AIR' (Crackle). Two guys are in charge of a group of people who are in suspended animation chambers in a bunker after an apocalypse involving worldwide chemical warfare. The two guys are just maintenance men. They awake for two hours every six months to tend the people in 'deep sleep' for their genes will begin the human race anew. One kills the other because ..... I really have no idea. A waste of time; with Norman Reedus and Djimon Hounsou.
Scanned the news at CNN and Google and decided to bike to Walmart for a new watch. 145pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for the ride. Will walk the treadmill much later.
**** NEW WATCH
215~ 345pm...biked out by the mall, Drawbridge, and west around the movie theater and chained the bike by the northeast entrance to Walmart. Bought my first analog watch in decades. $26~ used the gift card so it was only $1.25 out of pocket.
The instructions were impossible, but I have Time, Day, and Month. You can do much more, but it's so crazy confusing. 40 mins. setting the watch and reading DALEY in the living room.
In the tub with DALEY and listening to A TOUR OF MEMPHIS by Amazon experts?!, HOUNDMOUTH ~ 'Little Neon Limelight'... an excellent record!, SHAKEY GRAVES~ 'And The War Came'.
Then I watched 'THE 5TH OF JULY' (Amazon Prime). A kind of slapstick comedy about a black man from Los Angeles who gets robbed while trying to spread his father's ashes at a rural lake (where it is expressly illegal) and loses everything, but he must pick up his girlfriend at the airport. Not bad for a small budget No-Star Independent.
Then an episode of 'THE CHEF SHOW' (Netflix). George Lucas's Sky-walker Ranch gets a visit from The Chefs.
***I noticed the new watch did not advance Day of Week and Date.
