Up 730am: Cloudy with temps to upper 70's.
They finished removing the gigantic dead tree next to 'roof-rake' house. That tree had to have been fifty or sixty feet tall.
***While watching the film I noticed that the PC needs to 'Restart' because of the damned Windows 2004 Update. Will try to finish the film before doing it.
'A TAXI DRIVE' (Hoopla). About a real incident that I had never heard of. 'Gwangju Uprising'- Summer of 1980 student protests for Democratic reform led to a government shutdown of a southern Korean city. 2000 were killed. A taxi driver drove a German film reporter from Seoul to Gwangju and was able to get the film to the international public. That was the last time that the two men met.
***1130am: Will read and eat a bowl of rice during the 'Restart'. I hope this is painless and will end the constant 're-updating'. The update only lasted a few minutes, but it's still 'Pending' and 'History' shows that it was installed already.
Then watched 'THE PASSION OF DARKLY NOON' (Amazon). A strange Art Film about a young (mentally challenged?) man named 'Darkly' whose parents were murdered in a military-style attack on their religious community and Darkly survives and wanders the forest until he meets a free spirited woman named Callie. She is married to Clay, a mute who leaves from time to time to walk the woods, and within a few days, Darkly finds that he cannot deal with his repressed sexual feelings for Callie. Directed by Philip Ridley who did 'THE REFLECTING SKIN'; with Brendan Fraser, Ashley Judd, and Viggo Mortensen.
225pm: ***I can't stop it. I'll try one more 'Restart', but when I went to hit the button it said that my Updates were current and nothing was pending. I wonder if it will be OK when I open up tomorrow morning? Shutting It Down!
350pm...Parkview, Wash. Pk. North side across on Lincoln to Outer Park and back to Wash. Pk. on Bates/Noble. North side, up road, Parkview, Fairway, up to 940...Mp3...HENRY THREADGILL, PAVEMENT, DRIVE BY TRUCKERS.
In the tub with 'TULSA' and listening to YAWNING MAN, FATSO JETSONS, QUESTION MARK & THE MYSTERIANS.
Watched a German film 'FREAKS: YOU'RE ONE OF US' (Netflix). A young woman learns that she has super powers and finds a tiny community of 'super heroes in the making'. They fight 'The Powers That Be' because the authorities have been medically suppressing the people that show super abilities; interestingly odd.
