Up 8am: Partly cloudy with temps to about 50.
***Buddy ate just a bit of canned food, but not even close to his usual intensity. Disheartening.
Watched Netflix disc 'FIVE EASY PIECES'. Definitely a signature film of the sixties as it beautifully highlights the changing values of those times and also demonstrates how far (or how little) we've come today. The film casts aspersions on Feminism and the female sex in general, yet the lead character of Robert Duprea is clearly portrayed as a 'damaged' male and almost cowardly; with Jack Nicholson, Karen Black, and Sally Struthers. I watched The Bonus Features and was amazed by the superior 70's films out of Bob Rafelson's production company.
110pm: A walk to mail back the disc. Up to Monroe and across and down to the PO box at Walgreens, over to Washington and east to Lincoln, and south to Wash. Pk., Across and down the southside, up the hill, Parkview, Fairway and up to 940...ONE HOUR AND 30"...Mp3...NPR 919.9FM.
***Buddy won't eat anymore and I think he has lost weight. I've decided to call Brewer tomorrow morning and ask if there is anything, at this stage, that can be done to stimulate his appetite. He seems very lethargic and all he has done all day is sleep. If not, I think it's time to let him go........
I watched 'THE GENTLEMEN' (SHOWTIME- Xfinity). Guy Richie directs an elegant (pretentious?) English drug/mafia film/comedy about a bunch of players trying to capture 'The Sticky Bush' marijuana market; with Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Jeremy Strong, Colin Farrell, Hugh Grant, and Eddie Marsan.
545pm: TWO MILES ON THE TREADMILL and watched WHITNEY CUMMINGS podcast with SEBASTIAN MANISCALCO.
Then in the tub with HOAG and listening to RED MEAT~ 'Alameda County', THE REPLACEMENTS, more DAVID MURRY/GRATEFUL DEAD.
Watched 'SAY HER NAME: THE LIFE AND DEATH OF SANDRA BLAND' (HBO- Xfinity). A college educated, female black activist moves from Chicago to Texas to begin a new job and is stopped for a minor traffic violation in a small Texas town. The traffic stop escalates into a physical confrontation, she's booked for a felony assault, and later is found hanging in her cell. She spent three days, alone in a cell without supervision and she committed suicide...Or...The cops hung her. But, in the end, no one is held responsible for her death. They don't say it in the documentary, but I think that she didn't die because of 'arrogance', but because she was 'uppity'.
