Th 12/24/20- Xmas Eve

 Th 12/24/20

Up 815am: Sunny and very cold. Temps only to lower 20's.

***Computer boots up in about fifteen seconds! Success!! And minimum problems locating the 'On' switch for the TV monitor, but a maximum problem turning the fucking monitor 'Off'.

***Moved 'The Cheese Stands Alone' to the Toshiba Auxiliary Hard Drive.

A quote about QAnon:

"It would probably be easier to round them up. A lot of things would be easier, if more of us were monsters."

Watched 'ASHBY' (Amazon Prime). A high school boy befriends an elderly next door neighbor. The old man had only three months to live and he had killed almost one hundred men during his career as an assassin for the CIA. A well written and enjoyable 'Coming of Age' Tale. This one is leaving Prime in a few days. ; with Mickey Rourke, Emma Roberts (daughter of Eric Roberts), Michael Lerner, and Sarah Silverman. Although the film is set in Virginia, it was filmed around Charlotte, North Carolina.

Then watched 'Christmas Crash' (Amazon Prime). Only watched fifteen minutes and I decided to go to Ace on Walnut because the electric space heater went out. It must be thirty years old, so time for a replacement to take the chill off before the guys from Marx (Brothers?) show up.

To Ace on Walnut and got a space heater nearly identical to the old one only dark brown instead of beige :$59.

Ten FOUR MILES ON THE TREADMILL and finished 'Christmas Crash' {Amazon Prime}. Days before Xmas a husband and wife crash land in the Canadian wilderness. They are finally rescued, but the guy's partner sabotages the plane's engine to attempt to kill them and get financial control of the business. Buddy would have written a better screenplay.

In the living room and finished 'Charming Billy' and began 'CRIME BEAT' - Michael Connelly.

ON THE TREADMILL for 2 more miles and watched JOE ROGAN talk with RON WHITE.

In the tub to begin 'EMPIRE FALLS' and listening to MATTHEW SWEET, JAYHAWKS Live.

***A 'Pot Topic' on 'GETTING DOUG WITH HIGH'.  Pablo Escobar spent twenty-five hundred dollars a month on RUBBER BANDS!! He had so much cash that this is how many rubber bands were needed to manage the stacks.

Watched 'RUDDERLESS' (Amazon Prime; leaving at the end of the month). An oddly affecting observation as to what it might be like to be the parent of an adult child who was the perpetrator in a school shooting, but to drag in a subplot about how Indie bands become popular and whether it might be unethical to use a murder's songs was a bit of a stretch. I liked the movie, but this one, most people would either hate it or love it; with Billy Crudup, Felicity Huffman, and William H. Macy (dir.).
