Up730am: Cloudy with flurries and temps to mid 30's.

Wrote up 'THE LAST MILE'- David Baldacci for the blog.

Watched 'THE VANISHED' (Netflix). A couple with their ten year old daughter are camping at a secluded lake nearing Tuscaloosa, Alabama when their daughter goes missing. The film is chock full of red herrings and false leads, and a somewhat satisfying ending. The parents were nuts and faked the disappearance because their daughter had died years before and they couldn't accept her passing; with Anne Heche, Thomas Jane, and Jason Patric. 

Then the next episode of 'PRETEND IT'S A CITY' (Netflix). "They  talk about how expensive it is to live in NYC, but it has always been that way. In 1970 if you spent a thousand a month on rent and you told people about it today they'd think it was a steal, but compared to what you could rent in other places a grand a month was really quite a lot". 

1230pm: ON THE TREADMILL...4 Miles...Watched 'HOW NEAL FEEL'.

Sent a couple of pictures of the new dinette set to Janny. 

Read for a bit in the living room and then watched 'CRIMINAL LAW' (Amazon Prime).

Sent the dinette photos via email to make sure they got them. 

***Janny got the shots and she let me know that Melissa is pregnant! Seems rash and crazy, but strangely uplifting. The young are optimistic about the future and that's a good thing.

In the tub with 'Franny & Zoey' and listening to NRBQ, LOU BARLOW ~'Mirror The Eye', SPOONER OLDHAM ~'Pot Luck', THE HOLLYWOOD BRATS ; early 70's English answer to THE NEW YORK DOLLS. Not bad, why is this not more known? 

Watched the penultimate episode of 'SANPA: SINS OF THE SAVIOR' (Netflix). The charismatic leader of the notorious Italian 'rehab/commune' tries to coverup a murder committed by some of his devoted followers and things begin to unwind.

And then 'HISTORY OF SWEAR WORDS' (Netflix)...Hosted by Nickolas Cage...And, 'FUCK' is swear word #1...."To hit or strike" and absolutely NOT- 'Fornication Under Consent of King'.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character.  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
