Up 730am: Partly sunny with temps to mid 30's.
Watched 'THE WHITE TIGER' (Netflix). The class system, religion, and the politics of India are wryly examined in a classic tale about a young man from the country who goes to the city to seek his fortune. Theme: Obedience to a 'Better' is absolute because the master could easily retaliate and do harm to the family of a servant who has crossed his master. An unusual ending because the protagonist is clearly NOT a good guy, but you can easily empathize with his motivation. "For the poor there are only two ways to the top- politics or crime". Another pleasant surprise from Netflix. "White people are on their way out...They'll be finished within our lifetime. It's the century of the brown man and the yellow man, and god save everyone else". "Just for a day, an hour or a moment, it's all worth it just to know what it is like NOT like to be a servant. And then the servant can become the master."
12pm: Reading 'GALATEA 2.2', but I ran out of gas on this one and began 'THE LAWS OF OUR FATHERS' - Scott Turow.
150pm: This morning I checked the mail and I got a $750 check from Aetna to reimburse me for 'out of pocket' at the dentist. I walked to Heartland Credit Union to deposit the check in the drop box. Oakmont, Bellerive, Greenbriar, Credit Union, and back more or less the same way...ONE HOUR AND 45 MINS...Mp3- ALLMAN BROTHERS, SUPERCHUNK.
Read more of TUROW and then watched another episode of 'BRIGERTON' (Netflix). "Why settle for a duke when you can get a prince"? 'BRIDGERTON' is a classy addition to the Romance genre with just enough smarminess and snarkiness to make it interesting.
6pm: ON THE TREADMILL...One Mile...more of TULSI GABBARD on ROGAN.
In the tub with TUROW and listening to JIMMY SMITH, WES MONTGOMERY, PALMYRA DELRAN AND THE DOPPEL GANG (Debra Harry).
Watched 'GUEST HOUSE' (Netflix). What it said at IMDB- "An newly engaged couple's buys their dream house but it comes with one small catch, a perennial party animal who lives in the guesthouse". A Pauly Shore vehicle all the way and it's crude and rude with some very funny bits.
