Up 725am: Sunny, breezy with temps to low 40's.

Watched 'THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO' (Netflix). A first rate detective thriller about a journalist and his sexy punk /hacker /sidekick who help a powerful Swedish family investigate the disappearance of a young woman in 1966; with Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Christopher Plummer, Stellan Skarsgard, and Robin Wright.

***Marx Fireplace called to tell me that my Visa card was rejected. The card is fine, but the tech entered the wrong expiration date.

Today is Patch Tuesday, but the living room PC says that the updates are current. I can't download what hasn't been made available. 

1215pm: After the film I was going to walk outside, but decided to hit the treadmill...FOUR MILES... and watched another episode of 'BRIDGERTON' (Netflix) and finished TIM DILLON and WHITNEY CUMMINGS.

***Monitor and PC problems turning back on. Will just power down/power up from now on.

Spent a half hour sawing some of the pine branches and put a full barrel in the trash for tomorrow's pickup.

***Got the two sweaters and two discs from Netflix; THE PROFESSOR and EMPIRE FALLS (Disc 1).

A few bong rips and watched EMPIRE FALLS. Richard Russo wrote the screenplay. The various storylines are even clearer in the film, but I miss the elegant use of language and character development of the novel; with Ed Harris, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Helen Hunt, Paul Newman, Robin Wright Penn, Aidan Quinn, Joanne Woodward, Theresa Russell, and Dennis Farina. 

ON THE TREADMILL...2 Miles... Began ROGAN with MARK NORMAND.

In the tub with BALDACCI and listening to ART PEPPER.

Watched 'LED ZEP IV' (Amazon Prime). A quintessential English rock band, yet the the music of 'Led Zep IV' was deeply affected by their embrace of the laid-back culture of California. 

***Downstairs PC has 'Windows Updates Pending', so I'm going to let the machine run all night. I hope the upstairs PC was able to download the updates automatically. It said they were up to date this morning.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. We 4/23/25- Gummy 645am {I took 1/4 of a 200 mg of 'DIET SMOKE' gummy: 50 mg total}. 650am (1-LB: Cookie Bread). 910am (1/2-LB: Cookie Bread).  1220pm (1-LB: Panama Punch). 535pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker). 815pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker).  Up 545am: A mix of suny & clouds with temps to about 80. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
