We 1/27/21- Illinois Department Employment Security
905am.320pm.855pm.
Up 7am and read Scott Turow until 740am. Overcast and an inch or two of snow is expected by this evening- 20's. (More like three to five inches fell total)
Watched Netflix disc 'IT'. A classy adaptation of Stephen King's epic novel, but he didn't write the screenplay for the film.
"In the summer of 1989, a group of bullied kids band together to destroy a shape-shifting monster, which disguises itself as a clown and preys on the children of Derry, their small Maine town." At the end the kids promise that if 'It' returns in 27 years they will return to Derry and confront the monster again...I've got 'IT 2' in the queue.
1230pm: We've already gotten over an inch of snow and it's like a blizzard out there. ON THE TREADMILL and watched more of Joe Rogan's discussion with MATHEW YGLESIAS.
***Before I got on the treadmill I got a call for The Illinois Department of Employment Security. The clerk asked for my social security number and I refused, but she told me that I would not be liable for any benefits wrongfully charged to my name. When I got off the treadmill I got another call and they said that she could have asked for the Claimant ID instead of the social security number. I gave the Claimant ID and now the case is kicked up to the investigators but I am still not liable.
The 'hipster mailman' pushed my blue trash can up the drive and out of the street. Nice guy!
Watched 'JAY'S LONGHORN' (Amazon Prime). CORRECTION: This will make a better 'night' film, so I'll watch 'CLAY PIGEONS' (Amazon Prime) instead. A very wry black comedy with a twist of noir. A guy becomes a murderer because of a crazy girlfriend, and then a serial killer comes to town and the killings really begin; with Joaquin Phoenix, Scott Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Janeane Garofalo. Filmed in Utah.
545pm: Shovel the walk and driveway; 30".
In the tub with TUROW and listening to PAUL RODGERS.
Watched 'JAY'S LONGHORN' (Amazon Prime). "It was so much more than a bar...it was a 'Scene'. Many bands that I had never heard of and I'll keep an eye out for a compilation of Minneapolis Bands of the late 70's and early 80's.
Then about fifteen minutes of the next 'BLING EMPIRE' (Netflix).
