 Mo 2/22/21

845am. A crumb- 1020am. 330pm. 10pm.

Up 740am: Partly cloudy, breezy with temps to low 40's and 50 tomorrow. Temps for the next week will be in the 40's and low 50's.

Then I watched the next two episodes of 'AMEND- The Fight For America' (Netflix). This might be one of the best 'History Re-visited' series I've ever seen. It's refreshing to hear a truer look at the historical record rather than the more sanitized 'official' version. Even today a significant number of white Americans believe that Reconstruction 'proved' that blacks were not qualified to govern and clearly 'The White Man's Burden'. This episode: Desegregation of the schools was the foot in the door for racial equality. All Americans, regardless of Race....now Sex, Gender, or almost anything else, are do equal protection under the law. What's the big deal?

And the next episode focuses on 'Romantic Paternalism'. A female military officer living with her husband learns that he is not entitled to benefits, but if she was a male officer he would automatically receive these benefits.

1150am: ON THE TREADMILL...4 and 1/4 Miles at 3.4 pace and watched another episode of 'AMEND' ~ Marriage Equality ' and listened to a new brilliant female comedian, Adrienne Iapalucci.

Finished ' THE LOST WEEKEND' by Charles Jackson. Not much plot, and very 'inward looking'. Unacknowledged homosexuality as a reason for his addiction? The author was a closeted gay man. I wrote up the novel for the blog.

330pm: Watched 'THE CONJURING 2' (Netflix). Lots of demonic special effects and the chief demon looked like Marilyn Manson portraying a nun. Then as the credits roll they play actual recordings of the incident with the real people from the film; The Enfield poltergeist on 284 Green Street, Brimsdown, Enfield, London. The first 'THE CONJURING' concerned Ed and Lorraine Warren's involvement in the infamous Amityville haunting; with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.

Wrote and sent 'The Wrap' and then... ON THE TREADMILL... 2 Miles at 3.4 pace and watched more of TIM DILLON on ROGAN.

In the tub to begin 'THE TURNER DIARIES' and listening to JOSEFUS, then 'THOSE SHOCKING SHAKING DAYS' - an excellent compilation album of Indonesia's psychedelic bands; 1970-1978.

Running late and it was almost 10pm. before I started the evening's entertainment.

***After smoking I realized that the bong was nearly solid with resin. I spent much time boiling the stem and I've got to find a better way. The effort was far more than the results.

Watched 'SOUL FOOD JUNKIES- A Film About Family, Food & Tradition' (Kanopy); 64". A film about how food plays an important part of the relationship between a black film maker and his father. Dad eats loads of soul food and refuses to even contemplate a change..."Our family has been eating this way for generations and we're all healthy"... Actually all kinds of dietary conditions run rampant in their family, and then Dad is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The son attempts to find a link between his father's cancer and the unhealthy diet that is the basis of soul food. The conclusion is that the unhealthy food is only one reason for his Dad's condition.
