Up 7am: Buddy was making a racket, but he was OK. Snowing till about 11am and we got about two inches of very powdery snow. Temps will not rise above single digits and tonight there is a 'wind chill advisory' with temperatures that will feel like 20 below zero. Temps are not to rise above 20 for the entire week!

I wrote up 'FEAR OF FLYING'- Erica Jong for the blog.

I shoveled the driveway and front walk so that they can pick up the old leather chair and deliver the new recliner. I still have not heard from Lazy Boy about when I can expect the chair....930 am Lazy Boy called: they would be here at 1030am.

***Habitat arrived at 1030am and Lazy Boy delivered the new chair around 11 am. In the excitement I noticed stickers on the underside of the new kitchen table that it was made in Ho Chi Minh City, North Vietnam. 

Watched '21 BRIDGES' (Xfinity- Showtime). Seven cops are killed during the robbery of one hundred kilos of cocaine. The lead detective closes the 21 bridges to the Island of Manhattan. Too much shooting and not enough believability. Filmed in Philadelphia, PA; with Chadwick Boseman, Taylor Kitsch, Sienna Miller, and J.K. Simmons. 

Then watched the next episode of 'FLACK' (Amazon Prime). There are only six parts to the series and I hope there is a Season 2. The writers have very successfully drawn a bead on the amorality of PR. The thesis is that everything is 'public relations' and anything can be shifted and shaded from black to white and back again. Men doing this would not raise an eyebrow, but seeing women act so unethically is a bit different. "...a powerful indictment of the underbelly of celebrity and wealth."

130 pm: ON THE TREADMILL...4 Miles and watched a YouTube bio of BAD COMPANY and then began MARC MARON'S interview with JOE ROGAN on WTF. 

I started reading 'TIME TUNNEL' by Murry Leinster in the living room.

415 pm: Watched 'WHITE BOY' (Xfinity-Starz). A seventeen year old kid from Detroit is touted in the media as a 'drug kingpin', but really he was working as a confidential informant for state and federal authorities. The police then conspired to keep a nonviolent juvenile in jail for almost thirty years because he knew too much about the systemic corruption of the city's police force. 

610 pm: ON THE TREADMILL...2 Miles and finished JOE ROGAN on WTF. This conversation was from many years ago and Maron is kinda beefing with Rogan and Joe more than holds his own.

In the tub and beginning '1876'~ GORE VIDAL and listening to CANNONBALL ADDERLEY, THE BANDITOS. 

Watched 'HAROLD & KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE' (Amazon Prime). Although the film is chock full of trippy and outlandish situations- 'riding the cheetah hallucination', 'college girls play Shit The Battleship' and pot jokes galore, it's really a movie about friendship. A well-written and very funny cult classic; with John Cho, Kal Penn, Fred Willard, Christopher Meloni, and Malin Akerman.
