Up 810am: Partly sunny with temps to about 30.

Watched 'I CARE A LOT' (Netflix). An incredibly nasty, yet terrific film about a scam to place rich old people under state guardianships and then take everything they own. That part was scary enough, but then the film changes course and becomes about one of the 'clients' who happens to be the mother of a particularly  vicious boss in the Russian mafia. And even he has trouble freeing his mother from this diabolical (and apparently legal) swindle; with Rosamund Pike, Peter Dinklage, Eiza Gonzalez, and Dianne Wiest. I loved the film!

1230pm: ON THE TREADMILL..."4 And A Half Miles"; to 3.5 pace and watched a YouTube bio of Graham Parsons, and then a live YouTube concert by THE STONE COYOTES. 'Mom' is older than I am but she and 'her family' rock like the best. Instant Classic Rock is no simple task, yet this band does it with ease.  

Read 'THE LONG WEEKEND' on the couch and listened to Spotify/ Prime.

4pm: Watched 'BRICK' (Amazon Prime). This one demands to be watched with subtitles because the dialog is fast, furious, and clever. A high school student at San Clemente High School tries to find out what happened to his ex. And then, he must find out who killed her. I've seen this a few times before and it's a classic Noir Mystery (imagine- Raymond Chandler, James M. Cain, Dashiell Hammett) set within the social hierarchy of a suburban high school. 

640pm: ON THE TREADMILL...2 Miles and watched THE JOE ROGAN EXPERIENCE with TIM DILLON that was released today.

In the tub with CHARLES JACKSON and listening to BUFFALO KILLERS; two full albums of a hard rucking' trio from Ohio. Who says 'Rock Is Dead'? 

Watched Ali Shaffir on 'GETTING DOUG WITH HIGH'. I've got to find a podcast with Ali Shaffir- a funny guy.  Then I watched episode #2 of 'WU-TANG CLAN: Of Mics and Men' (Amazon Prime).

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character.  Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
