Sa 5/29/21- Mowed Lawn

 Sa 5/29/21- Mowed Lawn

740am. 905am (a pinch of White Widow). 310pm. 905pm.

Up 7am: Sunny and breezy with temps to mid 60's.

I want to mow the lawn this morning, but the grass is too wet (at 740am).

Finished the last part of 'HARRIET'. Everyone knows her name, but very few know anything about her (me included). It seems that everything in the film was based on her actual life. Harriet Tubman's last words: "I go to prepare a place for you".

More drying needs to be done, so on with the show...

Watched Netflix disc 'THE GENTLEMEN'..."There is fuckery afoot"...

A solid Guy Richie project with sharp dialog and great production, but unfortunately the film only got lukewarm reviews. Although Hugh Grant's character recites the tale, it's a labyrinthian story with more angles than a goniometer; with Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Jeremy Strong, Colin Farrell, Hugh Grant, and Eddie Marsan.

Noon: Attacking the lawn...And done, including the sweeping in just about an hour. Anxiety about mowing the lawn is worse than mowing the lawn.

Reading in the living room.

320pm: To Monroe PO to mail back the discs. Out Edwards and back South Grand alley thru southside of Wash. Pk., up the hill, Parkview, and down to 940...TWO HOURS ON THE BUTTON... Mp3... ADRIAN BELEW, ELVIS COSTELLO.

Reading 'THE 13TH' in the living room.

615pm: In the tub to read the first short story in an sci fi anthology called 'MILLENNIAL WOMEN' and then finished  'The 13th Directorate'- Barry Chubin and listening to HAWKWIND, LENNY KRAVITZ.

Watched 'THE WHOLE TRUTH' (Netflix). A young man is on trial for murdering his father and he won't talk to his lawyer. Then he claims he did it because his father was sexually abusing him and his father was physically abusive to his wife. The kid and the mother both have motive, but it was the kid's lawyer who did the dastardly deed. Another film with the emotional and realistic depth of a comic book...From Slant Magazine:" The Whole Truth ultimately plays as little more than the cinematic equivalent of a trashy airport novel that will grip you in the moment before it dissolves from memory immediately afterward".
