We 5/19/21
9am. 1145am (3 hits). 430pm. 905pm.
Up 710am: Cloudy, breezy, and much warmer. Temps to upper 70's.
***The water has receded somewhat or the seepage ended. I vacuumed the wet areas and opened the windows. This is one of the least damaging 'floods', but it still averages about once every twelve months and this is unacceptable.
I watched 'IN ORDER OF DISAPPEARANCE' (Tubi). This film was available on Kanopy, but it wouldn't play. I wonder if the library is having trouble with this site because it's unlikely that I'm the only one. It's a superior film noir with a slight bit of humor. A Norwegian snow plow driver's son is killed by a drug gang and he exacts his revenge. The title refers to the way the film is structured. Each chapter is named for a man who is killed..."in the order of disappearance'. The town where the film was shot only has just over 200 people and is 225 miles north of Oslo, Norway.
Then the next episode of 'UTOPIA' (Amazon Prime). 'The Recap' couldn't even begin to explain the intricacies of the plot. As near as I can tell, it concerns two violent groups looking for the second edition of a mysterious graphic novel.
115pm: Downstairs to begin moving books and shelves. The plan is to see how far I can get (I'd like to move out all of the free standing bookshelves) and then go for a long walk.
***I removed everything from the shelves on the street wall. It was more like 'packing' in that I only have so much area. It's all in one corner and tightly 'packed'. 115pm~415pm.
440pm: The Walk... Parkview, Wash. Pk. South, Wiggins, Outer Park, Park, Leland, Walnut, northside of panhandle, up the hill, Parkview, Fairway and up to 940...1 HOUR AND 50 MINS. Mp3... BLUES FOR ALLAH, MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA.
In the tub with TEVIS and listening to ARTHUR LEE & LOVE, AUDIOSLAVE.
Decided to let the downstairs dry another day and upstairs to watch 'THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW' (Netflix). Top heavy with star talent, yet it still doesn't work. An agoraphobic, alcoholic, drug addled woman lives in an urban townhouse and spies on the neighbors across the street. She witnesses some real violence, but the 'who', 'how', and 'why' are frenetic and wildly improbable; with Amy Adams, Gary Oldman, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Fred Hechinger, and Wyatt Russell.
