 Fr 6/11/21

735am. 9am. 945pm. 

Up 7am. Very hot and humid with temps to mid 90's.

745am: To County Market ...A dreamy and pleasant visit and I spent an inordinate amount of time staring at a display of Texas Sheet Cakes. I didn't want one (I've never wanted one), but it just seemed like such a great idea.  $84- Total. 

905am. Watched Netflix disc 'OUR FRIEND'. This only got mediocre reviews, but I loved it. The bigger issue is not that the woman is dying, but that she has a male friend who is more than willing to put his life on hold to help her and her husband. I've never seen this done before and this was about as far from a Lifetime Channel film as you can get; with Casey Affleck, Dakota Johnson, and Jason  Segel. Based on an Esquire article entitled 'THE FRIEND' by Mathew Teague. 

Noon: AC is back 'On' and on the treadmill waiting for the contractor... 5 MILES AT 3.4 PACE.... I watched the next two episodes of 'DIRTY JOHN'. 

I read in the living room and finished 'THE HAVANA ROOM' by Colin Harrison. A really great read and I want more by this author.

***Around 3pm I texted Zane that I would be downstairs on the treadmill and to knock or call.  I really just wanted to know if he was going to show up. He texted back that he wouldn't be able to make it today. I texted that if he didn't want the job I would have to get somebody else. I haven't heard anything so I assume that he is out of the running. I then called Adam and told him that it looks like I will need another contractor. This is the second guy that has decided he didn't want the job. 

***While in the tub I noticed that Zane had left a voicemail around 530pm. Just before I got on the treadmill and how in the fuck didn't I know this? I was anxiously watching the phone.....any fucking way, it sounds like he is still in the game, but I told him that we need to meet and iron out the price for the project and what will be involved. I called Adam and left word that I need another contractor, but this might not be necessary. Maybe I'll call or text Adam tomorrow.    

On the bright side....The downstairs PC is now up to date and it has the latest edition which is the same as the upstairs machine. And to celebrate I ordered three books from Amazon- A trilogy by Daniel Woodrell and two novels by Colin Harrison.

6pm: On the treadmill... 2 MILES AT 3.4 PACE... More of DAVID LEE ROTH on Joe Rogan. Roth sounds like a real nut, but in a good way.

In the tub to begin 'EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE' and listening to BLUES TRAVELER, BLUES IMAGE ('Blues Image' is the better band), BOB MARLEY. 

Watched 'CLICK' (Tubi). A man gets a universal remote from 'BED, BATH, and "WAY" BEYOND' that allows him to fast forward through the more boring parts of his life. He can also go back and review the good and bad parts of it. Interesting concept, but it could have been so much better; with Adam Sandler, Kate Beckinsale, Christopher Walken, David Hasselhoff, Henry Winkler, Julie Kavner, and Jonah Hill.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. We 4/23/25- Gummy 645am {I took 1/4 of a 200 mg of 'DIET SMOKE' gummy: 50 mg total}. 650am (1-LB: Cookie Bread). 910am (1/2-LB: Cookie Bread).  1220pm (1-LB: Panama Punch). 535pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker). 815pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker).  Up 545am: A mix of suny & clouds with temps to about 80. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}.
