Up 730am: Temps to the mid 80's with rain in the forecast for the next several days. Very heavy rain early this morning, but now it's a nice, gentle, steady shower. 

***Got a text from Tracy at Helitech that we're on for the 8th, and I texted Adam with the news.   

Watched 'I AM ALL GIRLS' (Netflix). A flat commentary on international child trafficking out of South Africa. A female detective stumbles upon a ring of traffickers who are trading young African girls for Iranian oil. The 'mystery' is that her lover/partner? was a victim of this syndicate and she is exacting a bloody retribution. A pretty good idea, yet dragged down by a ham-fisted script and the beautiful set locations in South Africa are wasted. This wasn't in the film, but South Africa has one of the biggest income disparities in the world.  A Netflix production.

 Watched a twenty minute YouTube video- "DAN SODER & ARI SHAFFIR: WELCOME TO ALASKA'. Soder tells of his job at an Alaskan cannery when he was nineteen. Funny photos help convey the storyline.

1250pm: On the treadmill...5 MILES AT 3.4 PACE... Watched J. R. E. ~ 2 Neocon's interview Joe and part of a JOEY DIAZ podcast. 

Got 2 from Netflix in the mail; 'RICHARD JEWELL' and 'FIRST COW'. 

345pm: Watched 'RICHARD JEWELL'. A well told story of a man who was tried and convicted in the court of public opinion; with  Paul Walter Hauser, Sam Rockwell, Olivia Wilde, Jon Hamm, and Nina Arianda. SLANT MAGAZINE: "Clint Eastwood is as condescending of Jewell as the bureaucrats he despises'.

630pm: On the treadmill...2 MILES AT 3.4 PACE.... Finished J. O. E and the JOEY DIAZ podcast.

720pm: In the tub with more ' I. A. ' and listening to THE AFGHAN WHIGS, BUFFALO KILLERS, and then an AL FRANKEN podcast and part of an ARI SHAFFIR podcast.

Watched 'SLIDING DOORS' (IMDB-TV). Two different storylines are explored if a young woman catches the train or misses it. Fairly confusing, but worth a look; with Gwyneth Paltrow, John Hannah, John Lynch, and Jeanne Tripplehorn..."Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition"..."Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life".- Monty Python.

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. We 4/23/25- Gummy 645am {I took 1/4 of a 200 mg of 'DIET SMOKE' gummy: 50 mg total}. 650am (1-LB: Cookie Bread). 910am (1/2-LB: Cookie Bread).  1220pm (1-LB: Panama Punch). 535pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker). 815pm (1-LB: Permanent Marker).  Up 545am: A mix of suny & clouds with temps to about 80. Finished 'SIGNS' (Netflix). Clearly the drama hasn't ended, and I hope there will be infinite new seasons. {No such luck. I couldn't find anything about a third season}. Pk northside, up the hill, Parkview, Fairway, and up to 940...ONE HOUR AND 35 MINUTES; ORNETTE COLEMAN Playlist; began a J.R.E. with an English podcaster. 9am: Janny called and they will be here after their appointment with Dax at 10am.   Watched more of 'HIGH TIDES' (Netflix)- The Belgian soap opera of 'all the beautiful people'. 1045am- 1235pm: She met one of her students who was a girl who is now a man. We exchanged books & Joe recommended an 'oiler' that fits under the belt of a treadmill. Melissa is now '2nd in command' at the Illinois Parole Board...
