815am. 2pm. 935pm.
Up 645am: Muggy with temps to the low 80's and the possibility of rain is in the forecast for the next several days.
I watched 'GREEN ZONE' (Amazon Prime). The film makes the case that the reason for the 2003 invasion of Iraq involved 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' and they did not exist. Many reviewers felt that this was too politically partisan, but Republicans really did believe that they could destroy the Bath party and 'peace and democracy' would miraculously occur. This was a stupid and costly mistake. I wonder whether these facts will be the historical consensus in fifty or a hundred years because I'm sure that many contemporary Republicans would like to see these truths permanently forgotten; with Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear, Amy Ryan, and Brendan Gleeson.
I wrote The Wrap and sent it off. It was mostly about the guy next door mowing his lawn and the house that was recently sold and power washed.
1145am: ON THE TREADMILL... 5 MILES AT 3.4 PACE... Finished ADAM DURITZ on J. R. E., then began DAVID LEE ROTH on ROGAN. And finally more of KATHLEEN MCGEE on ARI SHAFFIR.
Then I watched 'HIGH TENSION' (Tubi). A truly fine Slasher film and it more than lived up to its title- 'High Tension' from start to finish. Two young women spend a quiet weekend in the country with family and things take a bloody turn for the worse when a homicidal beast comes calling! I couldn't have guessed what was going to happen for all the tea in our local cannabis dispensary. Directed by Alexandre Aja who also directed 'OXYGEN' (Netflix).
430pm: Reading in the living room.
6pm: ON THE TREADMILL... 2 MILES AT 3.4 PACE... More of DAVID LEE ROTH on ROGAN. Roth seems completely unhinged.
In the tub with Vidal and listening to THE SUBDUDES, 'QUADROPHENIA' ~ THE WHO.
****A refreshing downpour at 8pm. cut the humidity and will make the sidewalk flowers bloom.
I began episode 1, season 2 of 'DIRTY JOHN' (Netflix). Another fine series...A rich California woman is sued for divorce by her domineering husband, but she can't let go and both sides of the toxic relationship are dissected; with Amanda Peet and Christian Slater.
