Th 6/24/21
840am. 125pm. 1005pm.
Up 7am: Cloudy and overcast with periods of rain and temps to the low 80's.
***This morning I noticed that another house is up for sale on Westview- up the street and next to the house with the 'Card Your Lawn' people. I think that a very elderly woman lived there.
Watched 'XTREME' (Netflix)..."Let's Spill Some Blood"...And there's lots of it in this flashy tale of waring drug gangs in contemporary Barcelona, Spain. A brother must take out his half-brother to avenge his father's death. Lots of intricate mixed-martial arts and crazy shoot-outs that are so over-the-top that it's not believable, but I guess that explains the title.
1225pm: Called Brewer for another gel-pen and I'm going to walk over before the rain starts. 1140am~1210pm, a brisk walk and no rain.
***Tracy sent a text that 'crack repair' is on for July 2nd. Later in the day she texted that they are running behind, so it's now Th July, 8th.
130pm: Watched 'AMERICAN: THE BILL HICKS STORY' (Crackle). Arguably one of the best stand-up comedians of the age. He had a friend who was able to get a driver's license at fourteen because his parents were disabled and they owned an ancient Winnebago. Bill and his friends would take this vehicle into Houston so that Bill could perform at a comedy club. They were only fifteen and had school the next morning. He had a bigger following in the UK. He died of Pancreatic cancer in 1994 at the age of 32.
Then I watched the last thirty minutes of 'THE RUNNER' (Amazon Prime- from last night). The disgraced politician comes to his senses and backs Big Oil. Is that the way it's supposed to go? with Nicolas Cage, Sarah Paulson, Peter Fonda, and Wendell Pierce.
520pm: On the treadmill...5 MILES AT 3.4 PACE and watched 'ROLL RED ROLL' (Netflix)~ About a rape case in Steubenville, Ohio that involved players on the local high school football team. 'Rape Culture' is debated.
720pm: in the tub with 'INADMISSIBLE EVIDENCE' and listening to 'SHOOT OUT AT THE FANTASY FACTORY' ~Traffic (YouTube)...(This is the album that Steve Winwood went to Muscle Shoals to employ two of the most soulful session players on the planet (bass and drummer were on sessions with WILSON PICKETT, ARETHA FRANKLIN, CLARENCE CARTER, ETTA JAMES) and this uninspired album is the result)... then more of the podcast with SEGURA on CUMMINGS.
Watched 'I AM DIVINE' (Netflix). A glowing tribute to two of the most famous citizens of Lutherville, MD- 'Divine' (Harris Glenn Milstead) and John Waters.
***Heavy rains about 8pm this evening and more strong storms headed this way and should hit around 3am. An inch or more rain is expected and flood watches have been posted since late this morning.
