855am. 1120am. 345pm. 9pm.
Up 8am: Partly cloudy with temps to the low 70's.
***905am: A beautiful morning, sun and clouds with temps to upper sixties when I left for the county building (after a few tokes). I parked at 8th and Edwards and walked through the Lincoln Home area blissed out...In and out of the county building; $1,400.
Then to the County Market/Fairhills for the groceries: $88. Home by 1015am.
1125am: Watched 'MINORITY REPORT' (Amazon Prime). Not a bad SciFi/Action/Adventure film, but radically different from Dick's short story. Three precogs can read the future, but when one disagrees it's called a 'minority report'. The film is an attempt to decode the dilemma of 'Freedom of Choice' vs. 'Predestination'. Fast paced and entertaining, but I would have preferred a darker and more 'Phil Dick-ian' sensibility although the special effects by Steven Spielberg were fantastic; with Tom Cruise, Max von Sydow, Colin Farrell, and Samantha Morton. Nominated for 1 Oscar and 20 wins & 91 nominations... A spot-on observation by Newsweek:
"Ferociously intense, furiously kinetic, it’s expressionist film noir science fiction that, like all good sci-fi, peers into the future to shed light on the present."
315pm: Preparing for the walk and reading some of 'THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER'.
355pm: Parkview, Country Club, Outer Park, Park, Walnut, Wash. Pk. north side, up the hill, Fairway...Mp3...'Beggars Banquet' ~STONES, PAVEMENT ~'Crooked Rain', NPR/91.9....TWO HOURS ON THE BUTTON...
In the tub with OCTAVIA BUTLER and listening to LAST EXIT, THE NEW MASTERSOUNDS (London Neo~Soul).
***Tonight I'm only getting 48 Mpbs for speed and I saw the Internet cutout and then the 'pen and ink drawing of a dragon'. What the fuck is that? It is my most hated image and I don't even know if it Chrome or Windows or what. Too much local usage? However I was able to watch the movie without any incidents.
'ACCEPTED' (Netflix). Some high school seniors who didn't get accepted into college 'create' a college and attract other kids who didn't make it into the halls of higher learning... S.H.I.T. - 'THE SOUTH HARMONY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY'. None of the movie was even close to being believable and not very funny; with Justin Long, Jonah Hill, Black Lively, and Lewis Black.
