Fr 7/9/21- Buddy Prints

 Fr 7/9/21

830 am. 3 pm. 920 pm.

***When I went downstairs this morning I noticed that Buddy had left footprints on some of the concrete.  Buddy's bid for immortality. I wonder who will see the prints and what they will wonder when that drywall is exposed many years in the future?

***I overheard Carol (across the street) tell her friend that 'fiber optics are coming to the neighborhood'.  That's the reason for the flags on the lawns, but it seems like an extremely odd place to begin a dig- halfway up the street.

***After finishing the lawn I stopped the guy putting out the flags for the fiber optic cable and he said that my lot is not involved in the project so I could pull the flags. I should have gotten his name, but I yanked the flags at 940. The yard looks much better.

Reading "MAN IN FULL' in bed from 6am-7am. Up 7am and partly sunny and cool. Temps only about 80, but a Flash Flood Watch is out for Friday evening through Saturday morning. This might be the first acid test for Helitech's work.

Watched 'THE MAN WHO SOLD HIS SKIN' (Hoopla).  Based on the real-life story of Tim, a former tattoo parlor owner from Zurich who had original artwork tattooed on his back by Wim Delvoye. It's  really not that innovative since it features a Madonna and skulls- not exactly groundbreaking. The film makes the tattoo a copy of the visa needed for people to legally enter the European Union and this is much more provocative.  A beautiful Art Film that evolves into a dark and clever satire about Art and Citizenship.

Then I watched the last episode of 'BOSCH' Season 7 (Amazon Prime). I'm going to miss this series. There were a total of 67 episodes and they were all good...better than good.

1220 pm: Preparing to mow the lawn.

All done in an hour; sweep and trim.

Called AARP/HARTFORD INS to get a free duffle bag for listening to a quote. With State Farm I pay $745 yearly for home and $214 every 6 months for auto. With AARP over $1,000 for home and $450 a year for auto. I learned I'm getting a great deal with State Farm and I get a nice piece of luggage in a month or so.

Reading 'A MAN IN FULL'.

310 pm: The Walk~ Parkview, Wash. Pk. down the hill, Northside, Lowell south, Outer Park, Wiggins north to Wash. Pk., up the hill, Parkview, Fairway, and up to 940... TWO HOURS PRECISELY... ZZ TOP, TOM WAITS, THE WHITE STRIPES.

Reading 'A MAN IN FULL' and in the tub at 630 pm with more WOLFE and listening to ROBYN HITCHCOCK, and some podcasts.

Watched 'THE BELIEVER' (Kanopy). High drama about a young man who was an observant jew, then rejects god and becomes a ferocious Nazi; with Ryan Gosling, Summer Phoenix, Billy Zane, and Theresa Russell. "Chicago Sun-Times Roger Ebert- The film's anti-Semitism is articulate but wrong, and the conflict between what the hero says and what he believes (or does not want to believe) is at the very center of the story."

***This Patch Tuesday updated the 'big optional' that I wasn't sure I wanted. I hope this worked on the upstairs desktop as well.
