We 8/11/21
920am. 1150am. 305pm. 905pm.
Up 730am: Extreme heat and humidity with a heat index of triple digits. I loaded up the blue can with more of the discarded books.
I watched 'RAISING ARIZONA' (Hoopla). It's really just a twisted valentine to 'the nuclear family unit' or maybe a skeptical look at what it means to be a 'responsible adult'; with Nicolas Cage, Holly Hunter, John Goodman, William Forsythe, Sam McMurray, and Frances McDormand.
Then I watched 'TULA: THE REVOLT' (Tubi-tv). Based on the historical figure, Tula who led a slave uprising on the island of Curacao (Kur-ah-sow: accent on first syllable) in 1795. According to the film, Tula only wanted to talk to the governor about freeing the slaves on the island of Curacao. He felt that since Curacao was a Dutch colony and the Dutch had lost a war to France, then French law should prevail. France did not recognize the institution of slavery. Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way; with Jeroen Krabbe and Danny Glover.
245pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing to spend the afternoon on the machines at Planet Fitness.
310pm: To Planet Fitness. 45" Cross. 45" Treadmill. 30" Bike. 30" Treadmill. 30" Cross. Watched an episode of "THE KILLER SPEAKS " (Amazon Prime), then
'TINY FLAKES: A TEENAGE DRUG LORD' (NETFLIX), and finally a SARAH SILVERMAN podcast.
7pm: In the tub with HEADCRASH and listening to TAME IMPALA, EDDIE HINTON.
Then I watched 'FEELING MINNESOTA' (Hoopla). An odd film, but well worth a look. The cast is so good that the silly storyline can almost be ignored. The gist of the plot is that the gal marries the wrong brother and when the right brother shows up at the wedding, cupid steps in. And later the girl ends up dead....or maybe not. I must read 'Plot' in the movie's Wikipedia page again... with Keanu Reeves, Vincent D'Onofrio, Cameron Diaz, Courtney Love, Tuesday Weld, and Levon Helm.
