Up 730am: Cloudy to partly cloudy with highs in the low 80's.

Watched 'FROZEN RIVER' (Amazon Prime). An American woman with two children living near the Canadian border becomes a partner with a young Mohawk woman who smuggles illegal aliens across the border for cash. The people portrayed in the film are so poor that anything they might do to make a living is almost excusable; with Melissa Leo and Mark Boone Junior.  
Watched the first episode of 'CREEPSHOW': Gray Matter (Amazon Prime). The father of a teenage boy becomes infected with a mutant virus from drinking a tainted can of cheap beer and a young girl tries to control the drama in her haunted dollhouse. Basic corny nonsense, but Stephen King wrote the first one. 
I called Walgreens and they do have the flu shot for people over 65.

****Stock market plunges 750 points because of China (?). 

1pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk downtown.
140pm: Governor, Capitol Building, 2nd St. south to South Grand alley, west through Wash. Pk., up the hill, Parkview, and down...One Hour And 50 Mins...The Stones; 'Goats Head'/'Out of Our Heads'/'Some Girls'.
Home to type a quick note to Janny. Basically, I told her that I forgot to hype the Colin Harrison novel and to please give it a shot. 
Reading (and finished) 'Personal Freedom' by Dr. Arthur Deikman on the couch. 
6pm-630pm: Chopped the weeds/flowers in the Virgin Mary flower bed.
645pm: In the tub with 'RAIN DOGS' by Sean Doolittle and listening to ALT-J, JIMMY WITHERSPOON,  THE MEKONS- 'Ancient And Modern '.

Spent an inordinate amount of time crafting a reply to Nextdoor about 'doctors being prevented from offering certain medicines'.

*** "Doctors have always been guided by what they can and cannot prescribe. It's called 'peer review' which is "evaluation of scientific, academic, or professional work by others working in the same field." Once you delete professional review you open the door to political manipulations and false medical opinions. Do we want to return to the age of snake oil salesmen and blessed prayer cloths to heal the sick?"

Began 'ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE' (Amazon Prime- leaving 9/30).   An Art House interpretation of  the 'Vampire Genre'; with Tilda Swinton, Tom Hiddleston, and Mia Wasikowska. Directed by Jim Jarmusch. Stopped at 1 hr and 26 mins.

I first thought that they were for the house across the street, but it looks like the action is farther down the road. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
