Tu 9/14/21- Mowed Lawn and trimmed flowers along the front walk

910am. 155pm. 915pm. 1015pm (a pinch). 

Up 730am: Sunny with temps to upper 80's and a 40% chance of storms later this afternoon. The rain never happened. 

***Downloaded Windows Updates although I'm not really sure if the September updates have been posted by 8am this morning. It did not and I didn't learn of this until Wednesday morning. 

Watched the last segment of 'JOHN ADAMS'- Netflix disc.  It features a particularly grisly scene of an 18th century mastectomy where the woman bites on a stick for her pain because reliable anesthesia didn't exist. 

1020am: PC is 'Off' and will take a short walk to the Walgreens PO box; 1030am-1020am.
***11am-1215pm: When I got home I decided to mow the lawn. I cut down the flowers along the front walk for Fall. 

Showered and on the couch reading 'BODIES ELECTRIC '- Colin Harrison. 

2pm: Watched 'LENNY' (Kanopy). It actually updates the classic Lenny Bruce bits. Dustin Hoffman is a better Lenny than Lenny; with Dustin Hoffman, Valerie Perrine, Jan Miner, and Gary Morton. 

430pm: PC is 'Off' and will read and then hit the treadmill later.  

6pm: On the treadmill...5 MILES AT 3.6 PACE  and watched more of SEGURA on J.R.E, a JOEY DIAZ podcast,  and a 'WHISKEY GINGER '.

645pm: In the tub with HARRISON and listening to vintage PINK FLOYD,  and various podcasts.

***The downstairs PC was loading the updates and I 'paused' and will do this overnight. This computer is not big enough to use and download simultaneously.  The next one will not have this problem. 

I tried to watch 'HENRY ROLLINS: BROKEN RECORD (Hosted by Rick Rubin)- YouTube; 49", but it's just audio, so I'll listen to it when I workout tomorrow.  So I switched to a 'true crime' on Amazon Prime. I had started this before, but didn't watch most of it. REAL CRIME CHRONICLES: THE FRITZL AFFAIR: An Austrian man kidnapped his 18 year old daughter and for twenty-four years forced her to live in an underground apartment under their house. He used her as a sex slave and she gave birth to seven children and they all lived in the bunker until the truth was revealed in 1984.  How could the guy's wife not know what was going on?  This sick saga took the world by storm and the trial was a world-wide Big Deal; (45").

Then I watched another Amazon True Crime called "BUZZFEED UNSOLVED: True Crime"- Who's really behind these cryptic candy-centric crimes? Japanese candy companies are targeted with extortion and the police are clueless. This went on for two decades and the culprits were never identified or brought to justice. (26 min.) 

11pm: Let the updates run all night.

I first thought that they were for the house across the street, but it looks like the action is farther down the road. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
