Up 750am: Sunny with temps to 90.

***A big dumpster arrived yesterday in their driveway and this morning they began removing the shingles on Bob and Carol's house across the street. Sutton is doing the job. 

Watched Netflix disc 'NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN'. I had forgotten that the film was directed by The Cohen Brothers and the movie is violent, funny, and clever. Reading the novel is almost like perusing a screenplay,  but I was surprised with the exaggerated West Texas accents and oddball philosophizing. That really isn't spelled out in the novel and the wry witticisms are pure Cohen; with Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Woody Harrelson, Kelly Macdonald, and Tess Harper.  The Bonus Features were very informative and helped to really understand both the film and the book. 

145pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing to walk to the Monroe PO to mail back the discs. 

220pm: Fairway, Governor, Capitol,  Monroe,  PO box,  Edwards, Fairway,  and up to 940...0NE HOUR AND 40 MINS....Mp3...JOHN MELLENCAMP (tried yesterday,  but got it on this morning), JOHN ZORN.

Read 'RABBIT RUN' on the couch.

530pm: On the treadmill...2 MILES AT 3.6 PACE...and watched some of a JOEY DIAZ podcast and some of an ARI SHAFFIR. 

630pm: In the tub with UPDIKE and listening to ART PEPPER, and various other podcasts. 

By 840pm watching 'The Evening Movie' - 'PARTY WITH ME' (Amazon Prime). A young woman working on the fringes of the Hollywood entertainment industry (she hangs out with stand-up comedians) parties too hard after the death of her estranged father. Another low budget Independent film that's worth a look.

Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland. I first thought that they were for the house across the street, but it looks like the action is farther down the road. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
