Tu 9/7/21- Paid Taxes

 Tu 9/7/21- Paid Taxes

845am. 1210pm. 920pm.

Up 750am: Sunny and warmer with temps to 90 and showers late this afternoon and tonight. The plan is to pay the taxes before the Morning Movie... Mission Accomplished.

9am: At Lawrence and Chatham a bunch of guys were still working on the sidewalk so I walked back south along the golf course adjacent to Chatham, Fayette east and arrived on the scene of a multi-car accident at Fayette and MacArthur. Nobody hurt, but lots of metal damage to trucks and cars, meandering east to Lawrence, 8th north "The First Tuesday Air Siren"...LOUD!!!, COUNTY BUILDING TO PAY THE TAXES, Monroe west (walked in front of the pot shop. No much activity., meandering south and west, Fayette all the way to Parkview, Fairway, and up to 940...2 HOURS AND 15 MINS...Mp3...BILL FRISELL, Dick's Picks- GRATEFUL DEAD.

1215pm: Watched 'WORTH' (Netflix). Another film with a 9/11 theme, but this one seeks to establish the monetary value of a human life. The film is the harrowing story of the legal team who tried to implement the '9/11 Victims Compensation Fund'. Congress wrote the law so that only future financial earnings could be used to determine the overall compensation. However, the 'master' of the fund was able to use his discretion on each individual case and consider other factors that might affect the claim. CASE #1: A wife makes the case for her husband who was a firefighter and first responder. She doesn't want the money for herself or her three young sons, but  she learns during the investigation that her husband had two girls by a mistress and this woman wants her girls compensated. CASE #2: A gay man's lover was killed on 9/11, but his lover's parents refuse to recongnize him and neither does the state of Virginia;  with Michael Keaton, Amy Ryan, and Stanley Tucci. Before the credits roll we learn that the legal team that handled 'The 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund' have also handled most of the other terrorist incidents where victims seek recompense for loss, injury, or suffering.

320pm: PC is 'Off' and will read/nap and on the treadmill later.

605pm: On the treadmill...2 MILES AT 3.6 PACE...Finished '2 BEARS & 1 CAVE- Segura/ KREISCHER.

7pm:  In the tub with KOONTZ and listening to BUDDY GUY & JUNIOR WALKER,
***Phone call from Janny!......Many people they know with COVID/ Joe's sister colonoscopy/cancerous, but polyp removed in time/ Jon's in Decatur next several months/ Jonas-Hank in school and doing well/ Tommy's tongue operation/

Watched the next and final episode of 'TURNING POINT: AND THE WAR ON TERROR' (Netflix). An amazing series and I should have taken notes, but it's always going to be on Netflix.

Then I watched the first episode of 'DISJOINTED' (Netflix)...with Kathy Bates. An unfunny show that's chock-full of corny cliches about cannabis culture and promotes a ridiculous and offensive premise that the pot shop is a magnet for weirdos and neurotics. The laugh track is intrusive, abrasive, and completely phony. I doubt if I'll be back for more of this one.
