Sa 10/9/21- Painted Porch Stoop
940am. 350pm (a pinch). 920pm.
Up 815am: Partly sunny with temps to low 80's.
***I ground the last little bud from the current 1/8th and I added the last of the White Widow Shake that I've had since last spring and it adds just the right amount of fiber to the powder/shake- it packs a whale of a punch.
Watched Netflix disc 'LIGHT OF MY LIFE'. A future in which a virus kills off almost all of the female population and a father conceals the fact that his son is actually his daughter because social and civil order have yet to be re-established. The actual geo-political situation is never revealed, yet there are several meaningful and personal soliloquies throughout the film. A critic said that the film was Casey Afflect's ode to storytelling however the film offers a novel take on the dystopian survival tale. Written, directed, and produced by Casey Afflect. "When you pray, move your feet''- meaning that prayer will involve stillness, yet a response and action is the aim.
Then I watched the Bonus Features for Netflix disc 'NIGHT AT THE GOLDEN EAGLE'. Last night I didn't realize that Sam Moore (SAM & DAVE) played the old guy who watches TV in the hotel lobby and that one of the actresses playing a homeless woman was Kitten Natividad who was Russ Meyer's partner. The teenage actress who plays the 'newbie' prostitute was asked to play the role when the director noticed her in a deli while he was eating lunch.
140pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing to paint the front stoop and then a walk to the Monroe PO to mail back the discs.
Paint: 2pm-315pm. Very easy and no problems, however a section of the planter had an area of old paint that peeled off. I wonder why it didn't soak into the concrete when it was first applied. It could have been that the first application was too thick. I might touch this up tomorrow, but, overall, the paint job was a truly positive improvement on 940's 'curb appeal'. (On Sunday morning I felt that it looks good enough and not worth the effort)
4pm: Out Governor, Monroe PO box, walked around downtown, back Edwards, Greenview, Parkview, and down to 940...2 HOURS...Mp3...91.9 FM.
630pm: In the tub with DELILLO and listening to BAD FINGER, UB40, DEXTER GORDON, and various podcasts.
Watched 'FINAL ACCOUNT' (Netflix). Short interviews with Germans who were Nazis or Nazi sympathyzers during WWII. ... "Monsters exist, but they are too few in number to be truly dangerous. More dangerous are the common men, the functionaries ready to believe and to act without asking questions''- Auschwitz survivor. "To Each What He Deserves"- Welcome to Buchenwald. Wikipedia says it said "To Each His Own'. Nazis interpreted to mean 'the master race' can do what it wants.
I stopped at 46" and I'll watch the rest of it tomorrow.
