 Mo 11/29/21- Operation Leaf Pickup

955am (a pinch). 810pm (a pinch).

Up 720am: Partly sunny and breezy with temps to upper 40's.

I registered my new Aetna card. I had to call because I couldn't register online. It wanted my name as it appeared on the card, but when I used 'N' and 'Jr' it wouldn't work, but took off when I deleted them. Of course, the clerk had no idea why it worked (or didn't work).

I wrote the Wrap and asked Janny and Joe to decide on what flavor of Xmas pie that they would like from Ameriprise.

Waiting for 'Quality and Affordable Lawn Care'. They're supposed to be here sometime after 10am. I think we agreed on $225, but I would be surprised if this estimate was bumped up (and, boy was I correct!).

I watched the last two episodes of  'DIG DEEPER- The Disappearance of Birgit Meier' (Netflix).   A thirty year old murder/disappearnce case is solved in Luneburg, Germany. In 1986 a German woman went missing and her ex-husband was suspected. However, a local man was the culprit and he was also linked to a pair of unsolved double homicides. The man advertised in sex magazines for sex partners and this was probably how he connected with these two couples. An interesting True Crime tale.

1245pm: No word from the lawn crew and I'm preparing for a walk on the treadmill.

***105pm: FOUR AND A HALF MILES AT 3.6 PACE AND 0.50 SLANT.  The guys from Quality Lawn Care called at the front door: $475- leaves, trimmed the holly tree next to the garage, and cleaned the gutters. They did my lot from about 230pm-330pm and then they did another house a couple of houses down the street on my side.

Read 'PROVINCES OF NIGHT ' on the couch.

455pm:  2.5 MILES AT 3.6 PACE AND 0.50 SLANT and watched more of RON WHITE on J.R.E.

In the tub with 'PROVINCES OF NIGHT ' and listening to THE OSCAR PETERSON TRIO;  'Truth"/ "Beck's Bolero"- Jeff Beck.

Watched Netflix disc 'IRRESISTIBLE'.  A crazy spoof about what happens when clueless political operatives of the Democratic and Republican parties employ 'scorched earth' policies to win a small town election in rural Wisconsin; with Steve Carell, Rose Byrne, Chris Cooper, Brent Seexton, and Will Sasso. Written and directed by Jon Stewart. ..."It's just math. That's what an election is. We need what they get plus one".  A terrific ending! The town was bilking both parties for campaign money so that the townspeople could revitalize their own city. A fictional political reality that could never happen, but I guess Jon Stewart wrote it to get people to think about how bad the current system really is.
I'll watch the Bonus Features tomorrow morning.
