Th 12/23/21
930am. 730pm.
Up 715am: Partly sunny, breezy with temps to mid 50's.
Last night the blood blister on my tongue is now a canker sore and I had to apply Anbesol several times during the night.
Watched 'BORDERTOWN: MURAL MURDERS' (Netflix). A complex Finnish police thriller about a sociopathic serial killer who 'controls' others and makes them do his bidding. Also, an ethical question: Would the world be a better place without this particular pediphile, racist, or homophobe? The lead investigator is a voluntary patient in a mental asylum. This movie is tied to a serial and I might give that a shot.
I filled out the ATT authorization to take a buck out of my account each month and I'll mail it tomorrow when the weather will be warmer and I'll hit the streets.
1230pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing to do five miles.
1245pm: 5 MILES AT 3.6 PACE AND 0.50 SLANT watched JOEY DIAZ'S Xmas podcast from WE 12/23/21 and more of JEWEL on J.R.E.
I finished reading 'COTTON COMES TO HARLEM' by Chester Himes on the couch. The adventures of GRAVEYARD JONES and COFFIN ED JOHNSON. The ' Back To Africa Movement' clashes with the 'Back To The South' movement, and $87,000 is concealed in a bale of cotton. In the end, an old black homeless man had the money all along and escaped to Africa and lived happily ever after.
430pm: 2 MILES AT 3.6 PACE AND 0.50 SLANT and watched BONNIE MCFARLANE on SKEPTIC TANK.
535pm: In the tub to begin 'DISEASE AND HISTORY ' and listening to 'Low'- DAVIS BOWIE.
Watched 'HOLY HELL' (Amazon Prime). A great documentary about the 'benign' cult known as Buddhafield and their charismatic leader "Michel", "Andreas", "The Teacher", "Reyji", or his given name- Jamie Simone Gomez. He wasn't aggressively expanding a following, he just wanted several dozen people to worship him without question and for twenty years he had his coterie. However, when rumors of his sexual conquests among the young men in the group were exposed that pretty much ended his hold on the majority, but some of his adherents still operate in Hawaii.
I heard about this film on The Joe Rogan Experience. This property in Austin is where Rogan was going to establish his new comedy club. Rogan said that the auditorium was built so that the Buddhafield congregation could watch their cult leader dance. How could seemingly intelligent people fall for such a cheap and obvious con?
