Up 645am: Overcast with freezing rain & showers beginning this afternoon and to continue through early Sunday. Temps to low 30's feels like a heat wave.

Watched 'THE NINTH GATE' (Hoopla). Satanic hokum about an ancient book that allows one to conjure up the devil. Who was the blonde 'angel' that helped Corso? Not to be believed, but somewhat enjoyable; with Johnny Depp, Frank Langella, Lena Olin, Emmanuelle Seigner, and directed by Roman Polanski.  

Began 'JAILBAIT' (Vudu TV). Teenage girl does four to nine years on a murder charge in the baddest juvenile facility in the state of California. 'Hokum' is this morning's theme.   Cut it off at 33" to hit the treadmill.

1245pm: FIVE MILES AT 3.6 PACE AND 0.50 SLANT and finished DOUG BENSON on WHISKEY GINGER, and began OLIVER STONE on J.R.E. A set with the weights. 

Read 'LONDON' on the couch and listening to Amazon Music. 

455pm: TWO MILES (slightly faster) AT 3.7 PACE AND 0.50 SLANT and watched more of OLIVER STONE on J.R.E. 

540pm: In the tub with 'LONDON' and listening to FREDDY HUBBARD.

Watched Netflix disc 'EMPEROR'.  A low-fi bio of Shields 'Emperor' Green who was one of John Brown's men at Harpers Ferry.  This review about sums it up for me:  "RogerEbert.com"- "Emperor is lousy in the same way that many other mediocre slave narratives are: it re-presents a dark period in American history without being inspired or insightful enough to be worth your curiosity or emotional investment."

We 8/15/18 Up 820am; overcast, clammy, and threatening. Rain predicted all day and tomorrow- none so far; 915am. (All day and barely a sprinkle- it was happening all around us, but nothing here) Watched  'SUSPECT ZERO' (Amazon Prime) Aaron Eckhart/ Ben Kingsley/ Carrie Anne Moss.  Eckhart plays a disgraced FBI agent who is being fed information by a serial killer. Seems to be Ben Kingsley, but he's not the killer, he's an ex-agent who can do 'remote viewing'. Not bad, but close, however excellent and creative charcoal drawings as the 'hints' to Eckhart's character. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland.
